Any way to combine drinking and a 12:30 am New Year Day tourney?

Besides guts...that game wouldn't work in our group...

I was thinking about varying buy-ins...?

Half buy-in if you're somewhat to rather drunk and just want to play for fun? Full buy-in for sober peeps?

The thinking being that the drunkards probalby will play every hand and bluff too much easily giving their chips away to the sober guys...

Kinda weird...don't even know if I like it and its my idea...

Reactions? Any other thoughts?

How about everyone pays the same buy-in but you provide the booze to the sober people. win win win situation

Well that would actually be my ideal case scenario...but not everyone in the group drinks.

How about selling add-ons for doing shots.

ie a T500 chip to anyone that does a pan-galactic gargle blaster in the next 5 minutes....

I dunno, this might not be the game for you. Unless the free shots are more important to you than money. The idea in poker is not to start making mistakes... some people are just lightweights...

How bout just enjoying New Years Eve and giving poker a rest for the night??? Who wants to do an activity requiring any thought at all at 12:30 on New Years? Not me.

Win a pot = 1 drink. Bad beat (as determined by a vote of the group) = 2 drinks to you + an extra drink to the winner. Pocket Aces = three drinks. Call down with 73o, everyone at the table except you drinks...
