According to TK, the best floor person in AC (he is at the Trop). He told me a few months ago that they are planning to spread just a couple of 5-10 games while focussing on the higher limits. It seems they are perhaps trying to be the Bellagio poker room of the east coast. I wish them luck, but while it would be great for them, its not going to be easy surviving if they dont offer the lower limits at all. I look forward to playing there, and will try to give a trip report the first monday after they open (which I would guess will be by July 4th weekend as I know they have conferences sheduled in July, and doubt they would miss the biggest weekend of the year for AC)

I was talking to a dealer at the Taj earlier. She said when she interviewed for a job as a dealer there that they only planned 10-15 tables and all at mid to high stakes.

Did you see the hot dog?!?!?!?
Reading through the press releases on the Borgata web site
I saw a story where they will have an 11 ounce Kobe beef hot dog for $19.00. That may be an indicator of what limits they plan to spread. |
Re: Did you see the hot dog?!?!?!?
All indications point to a Bellagio type poker room. I think they will have a difficult sell at this level. Personally I play 20-40 to 30-60 and occasionally 50-100. At the Taj you are lucky to have a 30-60 game in HE even on the weekends because they protect the 20-40 games. I don't think they will find enough players at this level especially during the week. Anyway these are my thoughts.

maybe theyll pretend they are the blackjack tables and raise limits on weekends

Kobe Beef for $19.00 ???
11 ounces of Kobe Beef for $19.00 ???? No way, that stuff retails about $250 a pound I think. An internet site says around $100 per pound. (Had it at the Mirage on a comp, it's really fatty and tender, but hardly something you'd bother with a second time.)

Re: Kobe Beef for $19.00 ???
I doubt its $250 a pound, maybe for some varietys..... but they now have American raised kobe beef and I am sure that brought the price down. Also last year when I was in Vegas they had it at the Bellagio buffet on the carving board and you could have as much as you wanted, so I would think it had to be cheaper.
BTW, if you walk outside most of the casino by the bus depot section you can get a real hot dog for a buck or two (with all the fixins) |
