Got Fillmaff\'d? Post it in here! (Designated NC Thread, Episode 2)

So, I come back from a nice vacation away from work and poker on the internet, and I'm feeling pretty good about life in general. About the 5th thing I did when I got back was to sign on to 2+2. I find that I have this PM waiting for me:

[ QUOTE ]
We need to replace the NC thread with a new one. It's too big and bulky basically. Having that many posts to scroll down make the banners less visable, and don't make the advertisers happy. I just wanted to give you the honor of creating the new thread before I locked the existing one.

Hope you don't mind too much. The designated NC thread was a great idea, and acts as an important outlet to keep bad beat threads down. Feel free to blame me or whatever in yr new post -- the mod is supposed to take some heat . (You could even copy and paste this pm if you like.)

[/ QUOTE ]

It appears that the only two people who didn't like the NC thread in its current state are the moderator and the darn advertisers who keep this website running. Anyway, it's time for a new thread before Greg brings down the hammer. For the record, _Kevin_ has the honor of being the last to post in the old thread. With that, let the bad beat and moran posts begin!

I'll also take the honor to kick things off with a bad beat post of sorts. What was the first thing I did when I got back from vacation? Well, I fired up my computer to discover that my hard drive had crashed. The darn thing was less than a month old, and I hadn't even had my computer on while I was gone. Turn it on, Windows comes up, system hard locks, and the hard drive is fried. Looks like I'll be working off my laptop for a while.

Anyway, enjoy the new thread!

I just lost with 3 fullhouses in 30 minutes. My downswing is going to extend much further beyond 3000 hands than I thought.

I'm starting to become genuinely worried about my bankroll.

This is why I never bonus whore

Well lets just get the bad beats rolling. I had an entire weekend filled with them. every 2 outer that could rob me did. Every flush draw I missed, or lost to a higher flush. Every nut flush was rivered by a full house.

This is what my bonus clearing session at empire looked like this weekend. This isn't even the whole thing. This is the "good" part. including the bonus, I am down 71BB. I have played way worse than this and won 5bb/100 over the same number of hands.

Re: This is why I never bonus whore

I ALWAYS lose money during bonus-whoring time (but, including the bonus, come out ahead usually.) I think a lot of it has to do with higher-limit players coming down to my level to clear bonuses.

Absolutely. They must have taken "play aggressively in big pots" too far. To be fair though, the guy acting after thesanch was a complete donkey. He would raise and three bet and cap with next to nothing. He probably put the SB with JT on tilt.

Oh, and btw, thesanch is a freaking nit. He wanted to fold the turn. I forced him to call down via AIM. I wanted him to raise the river but he wouldn't do it.

That sir, is, I beleive, the worst bad beat possible from a statistical standpoint. I have seen it too. A while back (like almost a year ago) a Party .5/1 hand (this is from memory):

I have AA (offsuit) in LP:

Two guys limp in ep, I raise in mp, folded to the bb who calls.

Flop: A T x

Checked to me I bet, two callers.

Turn: T

I get check raised, I 3 bet, the third guy goes away, villian caps.

River: T

He bets, I call al in (ran out of chips [mistake, I know <but hey this was played a long time ago so please don't flame me {I don't make this mistake anymore}>]).

Some clown turns over T4o.

I go buy a new mouse.

Re: I hate poker.

Sorry but this one doesn't qualify, MP2 has the nut flush draw and a gutshot on the flop and turn and has odds to call that - you should be happy he's too passive to three bet you on the river because the board is paired or you would have lost more.

Also, don't check KJ in the CO when you've posted and there's a couple of limpers in front of you. In fact don't limp it there even when you haven't just posted, you should be raising.

Re: God Damnit, Bet!

I'm in my first nasty downswing now, and am genuinly happy that somebody else is experiencing exactly the same stuff. I see all the usual suspects, and I fear for the health of my mouse. The funniest maneuver it seems, is to do that "gotcha-raise" on the river with the flopped monster, after checking or calling down two streets.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all.

I had been dealt KK twice in a row and had them cracked both times on the river...I should have folded this hand on the turn but I'm glad I didn't.
