\"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/23) (50/100 NL)

Tonight is yet another "Whale Game", a 50/100 NL game with a 5k restricted buyin to start that goes up the more times you go broke. Last week, Ed couldn't hit and run as he dropped close to 30k in the first 2 hours. Somehow he recovered half of his losses at the end of the show with his usual style of play (suckout, repeat). Last night's 300/500 NL game may have had its good parts, but that was after I went to bed so I can't tell you how the last hour went. Tonight's show should be better as it's the last new show of the week as tomorrow is a 14 hour best of show starting at 12 noon PST. The schedule may be found at www.liveatthebike.com but I can't access the site at the moment. That's also where you can follow the exciting action with Bart and Shirley.

Hi Kevmath, are you affilliated with live at The Bike, or do you just do this on your own.

Just curious

Thanks

I started this thread on my own, but word got to the show about the thread and it got incorporated into the show. Bart usually lets me know the game and if anyone of interest will be on that night's show.

A couple of other notes, L@TB favorite Kenna James finished 7th at Monte Carlo Millions for 100k. Also, is there an exact schedule of what will be on the show tomorrow? What's showing on the schedule isn't too exact.

sorry, but listening to "lets see the ace of spades" is just retarded, GET OVER IT, they need more interesting topics on the show, like a weekly topic they discuss, maybe blind defense, or bet compared to pot size, something, LET'S see the Ace of spades is just RETARDED

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/23) (50/100 NL)

Shirley, they played down to 6. However, there was a consolation tournament for those players that had busted out earlier. The decision to give the consolation winner was agreed to by a group of players and the TD, Matt Savage. The winner of that tournament got the 7th seat with 10 BB's (160k). That player (John Juanda) finished 6th.

Thanks for the update Bart on the schedule, so it's going to be 4 full shows which works a lot better than mixing in a bunch of shows.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/23) (50/100 NL)

They do discuss various topics during slow spots of the show. You just need to listen more often to be aware of those. Jive Dadson was a long time poster of the thread, who sometimes didn't really care for various aspects of the show.

I must have been watching a different show Monday, because that was the same Ed I've been seeing on the show. He sucked out to win his prelim match, and sucked out on Corp Mike at least 3 or 4 times to win the final.

a positive EV play is a positive EV play, there is no such thing as "luck" or "running hot" only standard deviation, and I don't care who he is, if he wants to give me positive EV plays I'll take them anyday.

The problem is that Ed will simply break you with his bankroll - sorta like the Andy Beal strategy. And he gets there!!

you go Ed!

How much is Ed worth?

If Ed plays this badly for these stakes, I'm guessing he's worth a few bucks Anyone know how much? And how he got that money?

Re: How much is Ed worth?

He "owns" a design-build firm (engineering) that builds power plants and $hit like that.

RikaKazak 11-23-2005 10:56 PM

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/23) (50/100 NL)

well, depends on how big of a bankroll I have, that's the variable you haven't "included" I'm quite sure Ed has WAY MORE money than me, but, at those stakes, I think I would have a 95% confidence or higher of not going bust. I could easily get a few hundred K (if I sold 2 investment properties of mine), so a 5K buy in, I could do 50 plus buyin ins, and if I lose that I know I could get staked for another 10-20 buy ins. And if I lose that I could sell my house which I could pull out about 70K.

SO my point is, I think I would LOVE to play him and have plenty of roll

Re: How much is Ed worth?

I'll start a thread in this forum, but it may cover both Thursday and Friday. Assuming this is correct, this is what the schedule will be:

Thursday 12-4p PT - Greg Raymer playing/commentating 5/10 NL
" " 4-8 PT - Bombshell Models $100 NL??
" " 8-11 PT - Whale Game #1 - 400-800 limit w/ BG commentating, Doyle Brunson interview
" " 11-2a PT - 5/10 NL with Jesus, Kenna, Tony calling out the "suckers", etc.

Friday 6-9p PT - Barry Greenstein on the Whale Game #2

I'm sure you would destroy Ed. Seriously - the game is open to anyone. Get thee there and take hi money. Some of them truly hate money.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/23) (50/100 NL)

What are you talking about? Dellusional? He plays HORRIBLE, I would crush that game, I'm a winning NL 1K 6 max player (4.5 ptbb/100, small sample size, only about 40K hands) but I have a much larger sample size at over 200K hands NL 400 6 max at 5.24 ptbb/100.
