How much was your first deposit for?
 

Your very first one that started it all. I'm curious to see how much the people who play professionally deposited originally before they knew they would do it for a living [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img].

Mine was 100 on pokerroom.

$100 into PP......only took me 2 hours to lose at 2/4.....thought i was good that it took me THAT long so i put another $100 in and still trying to lose it

mine was 100 on empire.

Jumped right into 2/4 knowing jacksh*t, ran well, then read a half-dozen books a few dozen times, and never looked back.

I started with $50 at UB, and $100 at Party.

My Party deposit was down to about $15 for a while, and I was basically trying to give it away at the NL tables. Never did though, and eventually built my bankroll from it.

$100 on gutspoker I think it was called. Ran up to $375 having no idea how to play. Was running simulations to see if I did that everyday I wouldn't have to work.

Needless to say I blew it all.

Then read Hold'em Poker (Sklansky/ Malmuth) then jumped to Poker.com, Pokerstars, then Party playing $10 SNG's and $3-$10 MTT's and never looked back.

First and only deposit was $25 at about the time I registered here. Started at .02/.04 nano LHE game at Paradise.

$50 on Paradise. Sucked badly and was reduced to $12.50, then read Sklansky and built it up in .05/.10 limit. I swear I still have nightmares about busting out and having to play those nickel games again!

Well, I don't play professionally, but my first deposit was $200 into Pacific; got the $200 match, took my $200 out, and used their $200 to learn how to play Hold'em (had never played before, a friend suggested I might like it)

I started wit ha free $10 from Royal Vegas anbd busted out after I lost a 12 dollar pot playing .05c/.10c NL holdem on my nut str8 vs his slowplaed nut flush.

I tried it again with 7sultans free ten dollars and was successful. I was at a sleepover (yes I'm young) and joined a $5 MTT tourney (i usually played the .75c +.25c SNGs) and I came back from like almost last to top 5 after I doubled up twice in a row with AA vs the same person and then busted him. I felt bad for that guy. To take my money out tho, my mom and I set up a neteller account and deposit. We deposited $20.

Lo, I remember trying to explain to her why one would need to deposit moneyinto the account to withdraw. That took awhile for her to understand.

damn it, you guys are pissin me off, all of you who became winners after 50 or 100 bucks. Ok, I'll be the first (hopefully the first, and not just the only) to admit to being bad at poker

my first deposit was $50 at Ultimate Bet. Followed by a ton more at UB and at Party. I had no idea what 2+2 was, hadn't read any books, I had played live 3/6 and live 5/10, so i jumped right to those games online. Like any losing gambler, I didn't keep records, but as close as I can tell, I dropped between 1200-1500 dollars. Eventually, I dont remember how (I wish I did) I heard of Holdem Poker by David Sklansky. While reading it, i happened to see 2+2.com on the back cover. Fastforward roughly a year later, I won back what i lost, and about 3.5K more.

300 on Empire a year ago or so when there was that 100% match bonus up to 500. The bonus was not supposed to be leaked/active so they cancelled it.

$40 on True Poker. Sat at the NL50 table with all of it. First week was between $300-$400. Never looked back. Did switch to limit eventually.

My first and only deposit was for $100 at Paradise in March 2002. At that time .50/$1 was the lowest game available, at least at Paradise. It dwindled to $36 before I started winning.

Deposited $275 on Party last Xmas and dropped it in 1 day. Lost another $200 the following day. Waited 1 week and deposited $300 and it's been a great ride since then. I started off playing $3-6 and $33 SNGs b/c that's what I'd played in the casino or with friends... I had no idea. Luckily, I ran hot for a little before finding this site and realizing I needed to step down in limits.
