I found a penny in my grande soft taco yesterday. I'm not kidding. I already bitched and complained to Tashita (not kidding, her real name) at 1-800-Taco Bell.

Paraphrased Conversation:

"Tashita, I found a penny in my Grande Soft Taco"

"I didn't eat it, but I almost did. I could have died"

"This is serious. You know how many people die each year from eating pennies?"

"I don't know what you can do for me Tashita, I will never eat at Taco Bell again" (big bluff)

What's your play from here?

I have no picture of it, but I have the reciept and I have a lot of free time on my hands, so I'm looking for suggestions.

Going to the location and talking to the manager would have been the right move. He cause have hooked you up with a couple of half pound bean burritos.

In related news, I heard that if you find a mouse in one of your beer bottles you got a free case or something......

Yes, the "You know how many people die each year from eating pennies" bit was a nice touch.

Yesterday I had TB for brunch after sleeping for about 3 hours. I had a 7 layer burrito... I didn't even know TB HAD guac because I haven't had one in years. Do you think I could get them to add it to other things i order?

not even, calling corporate is ALWAYS the better play....corporate LOVES to suck dick in situations like this, and you will get waaaaay better hooked up than complaining to the manger at the place where it happened. Plus the corporate hookup you wont be required to eat at the same place where obviously the employees love [censored] with the food

Update:

Robert (General Manager) at the location I ate at last night just called me. He got a phone call from from the regional manager at 9 am this morning (apparently)

We chatted for a bit and I used the word nauseous about 200 times on the phone with him.

Paraphrased conversation:

"Yeah Robby, man, I found a penny in my taco last night and it made me nauseous. Then I thought about it some more and it made me feel more nauseous. Then I thought, I've eaten a lot of TB in my life, more than I'd like to admit and that makes me nauseous each time I think about it. Damn Robby, I'm thinking about it now and you know what? Yeah, I'm nauseous."

"Well, Marc, its actually Robert. But listen, is there anything we can do for you, we don't want to lose you as a customer at TB" (he actually abbreviated it TB)

"I don't know Robby, I don't know if there's anything you can do"

"Well, I'm going to leave a note here for all the managers and next time you are in, let us treat you to whatever you want"

"I don't know if I'll take you up on that Robby, but thanks for the offer Robby. I gotta go now. Bye Robby"

I can't get comped at any casinos, but getting comped at TB? That's bazooka tooth.

I want to go big with this. I'm thinking I arrange a 2+2 Philadelphia roll call and I order (at least) one of everything on the menu and we binge. Or maybe even make more demands like I get to make my own taco's or something else extraordinary, like challenge my buddy Robby to a taco eating contest.

At this event, there will be pics taken and a webpage will be made.

I really don't know how far Taco Bell will go to please me, but I'd like to find out.

I got fed up after having a taco bell screw up my order for the 900th time so I called 1800tacobell and got them to send me a coupon for 2 free menu items. I ended up going back to that taco bell (its on the way to a casino, like 40 minutes from my house) and tried to use the coupon. They claimed they would only give me ground beef instead of chicken/steak. That is of course unacceptable so I decided to try 2 other taco bells that are right near my house (btw, on the same street, just across the freeway, whats up with that). Anyways, both of them don't accept these types of coupons!?! WTFFFFFFFFFF

So I called 1800tacobell and complained about all 3 locations just cause I was pissed again (wasn't expecting more free food) and told them specifically about how I was totally getting jerked around at the first taco bell, and that the people should learn how to speak english before working the counter because the guy literally didn't understand what I was trying to tell them.

Anyways, few weeks later I'm back in San Diego and I go to my local taco bell and the manager there is very helpful and gives me not only 2 free menu items, but a large soda and cinnemon twists. I thank him alot and we get to talking, and he says "Did you get these coupons because of my taco bell" I say no, tell him the story and we have a good laugh. When I get home, I call 1800tacobell again, tell them what a good experience I had at this taco bell and that I was really pleased with the service that their manager provided for me.
