Well, I certainly wish Husker66 my congrats as well. I have nothing against Texas - in fact I love Johnny Majors, Major Applewhite, and Lee Majors.

Let me tell you a little family secret TT. My grandmother is Dutch.

Furthermore, I used to live in Arizona where the gun laws are quite similar to those in Texas. (In Texas, you don't have to say excuse me when you shoot). I have found the people tend to be more civil to each other knowing the other may have a gat.

i missed the 499.2-mil by 2 hands....but haven't come closer than 20 on any others.

i am embarrassed to say that i had a mild bout of insomnia last night.....took little naps....and have played for each one of the milestone hands so far.

LOL

Don't ya just love that? The whole not having to say "excuse me thief running from my home with my property.....I'm about to shoot you scummy a$$!"?

Actually, I think the people here have always been real friendly to each other. (for the most part) It's just the lying cheating crime commiting scum that we don't like.

Getting life without parole for commiting a crime with a gun, and the ol' lethal injection, hanging, or firing squad (you still get to choose-see I told ya we were friendly ) helps a little too.

Hey, I'm not one to bluff and say it's all roses (don't get Al Capone involved) but I don't really see myself anywhere else for a while. The no state income tax thing isn't bad either.

I maybe wasn't born here (born a Husker-which I don't regret one bit) but I got here as quick as I could.

oh and by the way Thomas, the wishbone is dead. with the new coach, we've gone "west coast"....not to sure about it yet, but I'll give it a fair shake before making judgement

just because he hadn't heard about the promotion and you are giddy over your $500 win is no reason to get snippy.

BTW.....the fact that you are still chasing after this thing trying to win it again makes you the ultimate of whores in my book!!!

i indeed am quite the whore.
but i would likely call it a day if i actually hit one.

additionally, this may have been my last go-round.

my GF has the day off today (she's a nurse at a hospital so doesn't have a traditional work week) and she's coming over wants to go see some art exhibit something-or-other.

i might be involved in the 500-mil hand.....but it's more likely that my milestone-chasing is concluded for the day.

good luck all.

AviD,

As has been pointed out to me earlier, you may not have known about the promotion that is currently going on at Poker Stars. It may appear that I was being snide towards you. If this was your impression, then I am truly sorry.

Their is a current promotion going on at Poker Stars. If you have an account there and have played there recently...well recently meaning since 6/17/04 and have played enough to accumulate 10 FPP (frequent player points) then you are eligible to participate in a promotion that they have going to celebrate their 500,000,000 hand.

Any information that you need for futher details can be found on their site.

Good luck and play well,

Husker

Well, I obviously like it. It worked for us for......oh the last forty years. Alas, I'm afraid the wishbone is a dying breed. With all the teams wanting to go to the air game, power offenses with the option being their main weapon and killing the clock while steadily trudging down the field may have gone the way of the dinosaur.

I like good ole power football myself but this offense doesn't properly prepair players for the pros. Even OL just doesn't get enough reps in practice or games to work on pass protection.

Remember the days of Earl Campbell? Now that is power football. By the way what does Stars have to do with football?

My team, the Ampipe Bulldogs, didn't need power football to win. We had a quarterback named "Rifleman" who lived up to his name. So, we were pretty much the fun and gun, which is unusual for a dying Pennsylvania steel town. Our recipe for sucess was to jump out to an early lead, then hold stout with a 5'4" cornerback (me) as the "Keystone" of the "D."

Well, you know the story: yadda, yadda, yadda, I get kicked off the team; - yadda, yadda, yadda, having troubles with the girlfriend; yadda, yadda, yadda, now I have to make all the right moves to get my life back on track.

Reminds me of some guys from a neighboring town, Michael Vronsky and his buddies Nick and Steven. They are like schoolmates, hanging out in a local bar and enjoying weekends of deer-hunting. Michael and Nick are also both in love with Linda, who seems to juggle both of the men. But their placid life is soon to be changed after they are enlisted in the airborne infantry of Vietnam. So they all celebrate a goodbye at Steven's wedding and they leave to Vietnam, where they are captured by the enemy and forced to play a game of Russian Roulette. They escape and return home, but their lives are forever changed. Nick stays in Vietnam, Michael returns to Linda, and Steven is handicapped after losing a leg in the war.

Just something to think about.

Good one. Obviously living in Fort Worth and being a Nebraska fan is not always conducive to a safe and happy life, but I wear my badge proud, and can dish it out to all my UT Longhorn friends as could as I can take it. The beat 'em nine times was in reference to the Husker's record last year and the firing of Solich who had been with the program over 20 years starting originally as an assistant under Osbourne.

With no professional sports teams to root for the Cornhusker fan's take college football VERY seriously. We hired new AD last year, and I guess he didn't feel a 9-3 record and a bowl game win was good enough.

I am curious to see what the new coach Callahan and his west coast offence is going to bring to the table in September.....only time will tell.

Alas, such is a Risky Business as one does not wish to run afoul of The Outsiders, especially if you are a Narc (2002, didn't do much). Of course, being Born on the Fourth of July, I am quite fond of the summer months, especially as I type my Minority Report, Far and Away on the sands of the Mediterranean.

This Mission: Impossible as it may be, to confess my Endless Love to be Top Gun at my local shooting range, has been the subject of Legend around these parts for some time.

Of course, as I held my tongue, with Eyes Wide Shut, I proclaimed I would much rather be The Last Samurai on a Japanese Space Station (2002) than conduct an Interview with the Vampire.

"Respect the cock and tame the pussy" will be the battle cry of A Few Good Men; but most can't handle the truth that they would rather be sniffing a Magnolia than doing the tubesteak boogie. On the other hand there a few Young Guns (cameo) that would offer a wager with no Collateral that one would be hard-pressed to work Mission: Impossible 2and Austin Powers in Goldmember into the same sentence.

Of course, in reality, nothing has changed for me. I have been cerimoniously dismissed from my football team, thus, in order to get a college football scholarship and escape this dreary steel town, I have to make All the Right Moves.

So, Mr. Jerry McGuire, did you really have me at hello?

Sweet, Dude. Let me give it a whirl.

As I sat down to watch Revenge of the Nerds, I was thinking that I might have time to also watch Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. Knowing that it would be really cool, I cancelled my model train meeting and made plans to also watch, Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation While I was making all these plans, I decided that later I would get some Bar-B-Que and finish up by watching Revenge of the Nerds IV: Nerds in Love

I knew I would be wiped out the next day because four documentaries in one day really does a number.

Steph, I hope you end up making all the right moves and getting that college scholarship. I mean. One shot. That's what its's all about. One shot.

You can go to Coach Nickerson and tell him, "You see this? This is this. This ain't somethin' else. This is this!" Show him you are willing to make those moves so that you don't end up like me, drinking whiskey, hunting deer, and attending 14-hour wedding receptions.
