Re: Tips for 3/6 party?

I just moved to the 3/6 in the past few days. I've been playing at the PokerRoom 2/4 for a while and finally cleared all my bonuses on that network and I hate the rake and for some reason I spew at 5max tables.

I've noticed a lot of aggression at the 3/6. Guys won't hesitate to 3 bet you preflop with a mid pocket pair and continue betting when there's overcards on the flop. Try not to get too caught up in the aggression, it's easy to start going crazy against some maniac with something like middle pair to find out he actually did have something this time.

I usually pay a lot of attention to PAHud and see what these guys are showing down, try to take lots of notes for the first few orbits, it helps with your overall read i've found.

I'm sure you'll get lots of better info, and I look forward to it as well.

Good luck at the tables, hopefully you'll find guys like this

Yeah? aight any major differences between the 1/2 game?

Re: Tips for 3/6 party?

3/6 is more aggressive. I remember when I first got there I couldn't believe the kinds of wild bluffs some people pulled. And stick with it. Don't loss 100BB and think you suck and drop down. 3/6 isn't that much harder then 1/2

I've noticed a few more TAGs, but it's usually easy to stay out of their way while fishing

5/10 is also exactly the same as 3/6 (I actually find it softer), just with a higher bankroll req. So once you feel you have mastered 3/6 will the roll, don't hesitate to move up.

Table selection is the name of the game. A great player with poor table selection will fare worse than an average player with great table selection.

from my limited experience at 5/10(~6khands) its been a fair bit more aggressive than 3/6, and a few more good players to have to deal with

I love the 3/6 game, I just didn't spend much time there because I ran at 5.2 BB/100 over 12K hands! Without datamining or PAHud!

You guys think the 5/10 is really softer? I thought the 3/6 was such cake. 5/10 isn't a huge step up, but I'd say it's at least a baby step.

Re: Tips for 3/6 party?

PAHud = gooooood.

It helps when you are aggressive also. This means players won't screw with you. One thing I saw in an article here that REALLY helped my game in the SH is when you are against a fish just keep better with a reasonable hand till they raise you. That extra bet on the river has added a lot to my BB per 100. I can't belive some of the stuff they call down with. The irony is that once in a while they win and everyone sees what you are betting all the way down. Now next time you have a REAL hand they still call you down with the marginal ones even more so and it makes up for all the other times, lol.

Agree. If you are the 10th best player in the world and want to make money why would you site at a table with players 1st through 9th?

Pick the fishiest, lamest, passive calling stationist, weak tightist tables you can find. No shame in being the schoolyard bully beating up on the little guys that are donanting their money. They can read books too and choose not to.

Re: Tips for 3/6 party?

Don't get too cocky. If you have not worked your way up through .5/1 1/2 2/4.... then you are not doing it right. You need to learn how to beat those games also before you move up. Sometimes you can be the winningest player at 3/6 then go to a live 1/2 game where its no foldem holdem and lose $100 in 2 hours and wonder why? Because you ain't playin' the table right! You ain't justin' to the players.

Because i want to be the best in the world.

Table selection will give you a higher win rate, so if your rushing to the stakes pick fishy tables.

if you actually want to develop your game and like a challenge then go to harder tables where your win rate wont be so high. I like to keep a balance.

value betting fish all day is a sure way to get bored of poker. Atleast for me it is.
