5/10 games in AC?

For the most part, I play 4/8 at the Trop in AC. I want to give a higher level a shot. But the Trop goes from 4/8 to 7.50/15 (the pink game). Do any of the other casinos offer 5/10? I know some offer 6/12, but I would prefer trying 5/10 first.

Taj has multiple 5-10 games.

Thanks, I'll check it out this weekend!

Borg 6/12 is typically a better game than the Taj 5/10. You can sit in either of these games with the same buy-in and be comfortable ($250-$300). Just my own personnel recommendation.

Has the trop finally dropped the 6-12? Does the pink game actually run round the clock now?

Yea, I haven't seen the 6/12 game in a few months. They have the pink game all the time. Last weekend, I saw 2 tables going. I've heard it's a loose game, but I am not comfortable dropping $400-$500 on it yet.

BTW- A dealer told me they'll have the 6/12 game in the summer and the pink game the rest of the year. Don't know if that is true or not though.

Last I was in AC was Columbus weekend in October. The 6/12 was still running, so the pink game was mostly regulars. Most of them still played pretty badly. It was a slightly tougher game than the 4/8, but still plenty beatable. Mountains of pink are tons of fun.

"a loose game" is quite an understatement.

There is some magic in those pink chips that make capping in the SB with Q6os seem perfectly reasonable.

You could pretty easily drop 400-500 in a 5-10 game as well. If that is an amount that concerns you, you may want to play lower.

Uusally, I play 4/8. I sit down with $200 and reload another $100. If I lose $300 in one sitting, I walk away. I would think (incorrectly, maybe?) I can sit down at a 5/10 game with $250 and reload with another $100-$150. But it's not really the amount that concerns me, it's more psychological. I'm just used to playing w/ $200-$300 at a time.

The Taj 5-10 games tend to be very passive. I think sitting with $250 is fine in those games. You will find plenty of horrible play, anyone with a decent amount of discipline should be able to beat that game.

There really is a huge jump from the 5-10 taj game to the trop pink chip game. In fact the swings in the pink game tend to be bigger then those at a 10-20 game at the taj or trop.

I believe it. About 2 weeks ago when I first walked in, I saw a guy with at least $800 in front of him. About 2 hrs later, I saw he was down to about $200. Later that night, he was back up to $800. I don't know if he reloaded or won it back though.

The Taj is your only choice for 5/10. Filled with plenty of old rocks, nice and passive for the most part. Not much difference in the 6/12 if you have the roll for it, but a little more action than 5/10.
The pink chip game is another league. Usually runs fri/sat nights, combined with the booze and 3-6 chip structure = a wild ride. Flop-lotto baby!!!

the 6/12 at borgata is a fun game on par with the 5/10 at taj with the added bonus of a decent place and clean chips

Suckouts can knock you down real fast. If you run bad (even as a winning player) you can lose 50 BB during a session. You can buy in for $250, but you might go bust.

Re: 5/10 games in AC?

Not to hijack, but I've played all these games many times, most recently I've been at the pink chip game 2-3 times a month and now I'm looking towards the 10/20 games...

So the question is, whats better, the pink game, Taj 10/20 or Borg 10/20?

You can define better as anything you want, but mainly focus on the action (more) and the quality of players(poorer).
