QQ line check - I\'m pretty sure I messed up somewhere!

Party Poker (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
5 folds.
Action: UTG raises to 5, 3 callers, I make it 20.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
I lead out 25, one caller.

Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Caller pushes - I call.

River: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)

Is this standard? I don't usually play NL Ring.

what limit, any reads ?

Re: QQ line check - I\'m pretty sure I messed up somewhere!

100NL

Uh, the initial raiser, raised and stacked someone with a set of Js.

He was out of the hand by the turn.

The turn pusher has no real reads - I think he's been at the table for about 6 hands.
\
Edit: And we both have about 100 in our stack.

Re: QQ line check - I\'m pretty sure I messed up somewhere!

As far as "is this standard?", without a read on your opponent, I would say no. You typically don't want to play for your stack with TPTK, or an overpair. Two pair is marginal, and I would say most players are looking for a set on a relatively uncoordinated board to play for their stack.

Re: QQ line check - I\'m pretty sure I messed up somewhere!

so the pot size on the flop is about $45? I pot it.
Edit: you're obviously pushing any turn for your last $35

Re: QQ line check - I\'m pretty sure I messed up somewhere!

When a pot is reraised preflop, TPTK and overpairs become worth taking to felt, IMO. Any cbet commits you.

Assuming 100BB. Deep stacks, you actually have to play poker (go figure)

Edit: use your head; if you have AQ TPTK and villain called a 3bet pf but raises the flop, you can let it go (AA-KK and sets).

So pot is ~$100 on flop and you lead for 25? Also what are stack sizes?I'm thinking a push is probably best. JMO

I couldn't get the convertor to work and I didn't want to post the raw HH, but since there is some confusion, maybe I'll just post it:

players c and d, after folding and then calling your raise, probably have small pocket pairs. player g folding preflop and then pushing the turn is troubling. But i think the real player to watch here is f, who folds preflop and on the flop, but then mysteriously has no turn or river action? that's one sneaky mother [censored]

Haha - you took more care than I. That's why this hand was so confusing!

Oh well, it sounds like I should have folded to the turn push, and that's all I care about.

Re: QQ line check - I\'m pretty sure I messed up somewhere!

You should be reraising a lot more then 2.5x preflop when its multiway, and you should definately be reraising. You want to play QQ HU not vs 5 players.

You need to bet more on the flop. 2/3rds is pretty good.

When he calls the flop and pushes the turn its VERY difficult to be ahead here. All you're really beating is someone donking with a 10 and maybe Ah10d or something like that, as well as bluffs.

You can feel relatively the same about KK and AA in this spot, I just dont think any one pair is good here too often. But if you got a instinctual read on it, call him or fold based on that.

Re: QQ line check - I\'m pretty sure I messed up somewhere!

Excellent.

Addressed every issue I had with the hand. The preflop amount and the flop bet, and turn call.

Thanks. I guess if I reraised preflop more I'd just push the flop due to my being pot committed.

Don't you think he hit his flush on the turn which is why he pushed all in?

hopefully he is folding the flush draw if you pot the flop as I advocate. If not ... pot odds *shrug* Just cause a scare card hits doesn't mean you gotta fold.

I check fold the flop as weak as it is

In addition, with four other players seeing that flop, and a couple of them probably going in w/ small or medium pairs, there's a pretty decent chance of walking into a set and 10% pot equity.
