I just got an email from Party inviting me to test their new beta software before a full-blown release... People are going to love this feature:

Resizing a table
To resize an individual table, drag the right or left hand side of the table in or out. The entire table will resize to scale.

As one of PartyPoker.com's most valued VIP players, you are one of only 300 people invited to test a new feature on our software before it is officially released. This is one of many developments planned for the future.



We have designed this new feature for players who enjoy playing on more that one table at a time. It will enable you to tile, cascade and resize multiple tables.

Once you have thoroughly tested it, please send us your feedback by replying to this email and include screenshots if necessary. This will allow us to make any necessary adjustments before release.

When playing on the smaller tables, did you find the text, images and graphics: Much too small, Too small, just right, could be smaller
Were you able to resize individual tables successfully?
Did you find the tiling and cascading options useful?
Were the tiling and cascading buttons located in a convenient place?
Was your overall impression of the resizing, tiling and cascading options positive or negative?
Did you encounter any technical problems?
How many tables do you generally play?
What resolution do you generally have your monitor set to?

The most remarkable part about their email is that this is the FIRST time that I can remember Party Poker's software team ever soliciting comments from their players. Which makes me think that perhaps they will be more receptive to constructive comments.

I have my own list of things that I've emailed them about over the past few years which I'll be emailing along with my evaluation..... but if you guys have any gripes and suggestions---- add them and I can email those as well.

This is great I just wanted to start 8 tabling, but did not have another monitor to do so. Any idea when this will be coming out?

The minimum size for tables is now 512x387

so that means that, assuming that size is adequate for viewing the info,

we can now 9 table on 1600x1200 monitors
we can 4-table on 1024x768 laptops

This is with the tables at their smallest size on a 1600x1200 monitor.

Now--- whether or not I can play with the tables this small is something that I'll be finding out [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

yeah i messed around w/ it on my 1900x1200 resolution Inspiron 2100 and the print does get a bit tiny if you want to do more than 6 table, still quite sweet though.

I might have to buy one of those one eyed bifocals that the monopoly guy uses [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

after mopping the splooge up off my keyboard...i played some....only one set, but my eyes hurt already. I have to sit superclose to the monitor. Still, im quite exited. Took a while to mod the AHK scripts, but should be good to go now.

why has this topic never been discussed before? Brilliant.
i envision myself lying on my back in bed, projecting 9 tables onto the ceiling. Does the projection lose much/any sharpness?

depends on your projector yo. projectors have issues. i'm sure that anyone who's ever thought about buying one seriously knows all about them so i won't go in to it. they're great for a variety of things, but not for everything.

I didn't get a particularly high res projector (got it before I was playing poker online) and the picture is great. Awesome substitute for a big screen TV at a much lower price. The high res projectors are hella expensive though.

so, first issue i've had, and i haven't read all the other stuff in the thrad, but i don't think that it's been covered:

when i removed the bj and sidebet [censored] from the upgrade, it didn't run the software any more. i think that instead of straightout removing this time we'll have to replace them with invisibles or something, but clearly i'm not the person who's going to accomplish that masterful feat. anyone else?

I posted a script ages ago to remove the BJ and stuff. And yes it still works with the beta. I can dig it out if it's really required but its on my old PC now.

credit Freudian for this.....just open the BJ/SB icons in paint and resize them to next to nothing. I used paint cause its all i have. Open file, then IMAGE>STRECH/SKEW, and drop it to 1% of width, 1% of height. Save and you are good to go.
Also, table mods like greenfelt work fine.

Oh, and i found hiding the windows taskbar allows for slightly larger tables upon tiling. Not much bigger, but seems to help.

this just assured the death of Stars to me, in every sense of the word. i say this as someone with a <1600x1200 monitor who can now four table with no overlap.
