In my Air Force days I was stationed at a small German airbase with a small American unit. No bank on base, so we had a cash cage where we could cash checks and change $ for DM. I ran the show and an armed guard and I had to make a 1hr drive to the US Embassy in Bonn to fill our "bank" every month. $150,000 in US and German currency on my person. This made me very nervous...

Yes, but it's never small bills in movies, its always 100s...in which case a million dollars weighs about 20 pounds

When I was 11 my grandparents gave me $500 cash. I carried it everywhere for like three months, telling no one. Then I stupidly bragged about the money to some friends and they demanded proof. I showed them the five crisp $100s and they told everyone. Instant paranoia. My solution? Hire my biggest friend and my meanest friend as bodyguards.
