[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Oh you must've missed the thread title. It appears in about 100 posts. [/ QUOTE ] I am jonesing to try Shake Shack. Is it worth the trip from the UWS? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. I would prob be up for a trip there this Sat or Sun. PM me. |

Re: Mine

[ QUOTE ] I"m more than qualified. I also am not convinced of your SHake Shack assertion and would need something written to convince me. [/ QUOTE ] It's the beef, not the grill. Done. In all seriousness, there's no discernable char on the burger, which suggests that the grill is doing nothing spectacular. It's also not a charcoal grill given the lack of charcoal flavor. And, no grill can give mediocre beef that great, rich, beefy flavor. [/ QUOTE ] The meat is the main factor, but it's not just the quality of the meat, it's also the way it's ground and sort of loosely packed that adds to the flavor and texture. The grill itself in this case does little, but a good grill cook can make a big difference. |

I had leftover pasta with shrimps. It was delish. For dessert I had a snickers. I threw the peach in the garbage cuz it was too mushy.

Re: JBB Grades your lunch
Burger, medium rare, from 3rd Street Grill (SF). With Swiss and sliced avocado. Can of Coke with straw. Glass of water. Fries (relatively skinny fries here). I almost got the "Silken Purse Burger" which comes with sauteed mushrooms and sour cream. Next time.

Re: JBB Grades your lunch
Ugh... at least half of these sound awful to me. Probably because I hate mayo.
Not that my lunch today was anything special. Double cheeseburger (no other condiments) and fries with a generic Coke equivalent. From the grill at my office, not a fast food chain. The more typical lunch would be 1/4 pound of thin sliced very rare roast beef on a fresh-baked hoagie from the grocery store nearby. No condiments. Sometimes I'll have an apple or banana with that; other times I'll have Paul Newman's chocolate chip cookies or goldfish crackers. |

If you like, Post what you will have or already had for lunch, and I will give it a grade. Details will help. [/ QUOTE ] Saul's of Berkeley corned beef hash--this is probably the best hash in the Bay Area: the corned beef is from deli sandwich scraps, the potatos are shredded, and there are some thick cut salami bits, too. Large fresh squeezed orange juice--just enough pulp to let you know it came from a real orange. 3 cups coffee, black. Plain bagel, toasted to a golden brown. 2 poached eggs runny enough to soak the hash in yolk deliciousness. scrub |

Re: JBB Grades your lunch
Yea, the "s" on latkas was sort of a mental error. I had one there and split a side of the pastrami with scrub, it was quite a bit.
EDIT: The first time I went there I ordered the french toast and got served three of what could be considered their own loaves of bread in many places. |
