As a general rule, a 5-way chip-count chop is likely to benefit the chip leader. Between what he got in the chop ($93.6K) and his equity in the $10K left let's say he's getting $97K.
Say they play it out without a chop - if he comes in first 50% of the time, 2nd 25%, 3rd 10%, 4th 8%, and 5th 7%, his EV is just about exactly that same $97K. (These were the first percentages I used when trying to get a ballpark estimate of his EV, it's purely coincidence that the figures matched up.) I think these percentages are probably on the generous side. 40/30/15/10/5 gives him EV = $90K. I think the count was more than fair to him - if anything, it's the shorter stacks that lost value in the deal. |

doh forgot the SnG one only has 5 payout slots... err could probably use that for a rough estimate.. or maybe not.
