Hi Paluka:

I agree. This hand is straight forward. However, I suspect that some of our posters would not play it as I did. That's why it got posted.

Best wishes,
Mason

yeah thanks for posting, i would fold here without giving it a second though. i'm surprised the flop call is so uncontroverioal, i kind of want to ask what % of hte time you guys make this call here but i gather from everyones posts that it's close to 100% of hte time (obviously dependant on reads and history etc.)

Hi diddle:

My bluff certainly won't work everytime. But it should work often enough to show a profit.

Best wishes,

hi Bruiser,

Are you talking about folding it without thought preflop or on the flop? PF I think you should call with the right frequence vs a player like this (i.e. not always).

I think the flopcall is only defendable if you know the raiser is a very active blindraiser(/stealer) and that he is actually aware of the fact that you could be trapping him for being exactly that.

Hi Mason-

You are right. For many people this hand will seem interesting. And of course when I said it was somewhat standard, I meant that you should play this hand this way some of the time. I doubt it is correct to always play it like this. But this is a standard variant.

Isn't it possible your opponent is setting up a check-raise with that turn check? This board is nearly perfect for the hand example from HPFAP.

Hero has AK, flop comes A73r, hero bets out, villian calls. Turn hero checks, intending to raise.
