I think the skit was funny, but I wouldn't really call it a great character. There's a difference between a great skit and a great character.

I always thought Joe Piscapo (remember him) did a better Sinatra, but everyone hates him, so whatever.

Piscapos Sinatra may have been more realistic, but I think Hartman's had better entertainment value.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find Tracy Morgan's "Astronaut Jones" to be hysterical.

Exactly, it was Alec Baldwin that made that skit hilarious, not Sandler.
