1/2= 100/200?...small stakes for you huh?

PF raise is ok given the description of the villians. you certainly want the button and folding out the sb/bb would help you win the pot w/o a huge hand. however, T9s is kinda a drawing hand along w/ 98s....do you limp 98s here...'cause i do. along w/ T9s but a raise again is fine occasionally.

on the flop you chose not to raise in order to raise the turn if a card comes like, well, like the A and b/c your hand is so vulnerable to a good portion of the deck you're equity either goes way up, or way down.

when BB bets and calls the turn raise, he almost certainly has a pair of 9s and the other guy looks to be on a spade/straight draw of some kind.

raising the turn is good in this case b/c even if you are tied w/ BB, you split the drawer's $$$.

on the river a BEAUTIFUL card comes for you. time for a bluff and hope the other guy didn't pick up a K or an A w/ his draw.

most interesting streets imo are preflop and flop.

GoT pointed out to me that no one has said anything about the flop play. I'm not going to because he already told me his thinking on that. Anyone wanna take a stab?

[/ QUOTE ]

i just posted a response and am now reading the sea of replies.

i said the flop is a good call b/c the value of his hand changes greatly and the use of his position is key for the later streets. MP didn't raise so is likely on a draw or has a so/so hand which a pair of nines isn't that huge of a favorite.

one thing ive noticed about this type of play is that it does nothing but increase the value of position. position in the hands of a good player is a very +EV thing.

again, call flop due to hand considerations, player's range considerations, and positional/turn/river leverage considerations.

Any reason why you did not raise the flop?

Would you lead with 9x if you were in the BB ?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, as well as 6x, 87s sometimes, and a flush draw.

(or do all of you think GoT's flop/turn play is that obvious?)

[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't want to post my thoughts in my OP, but my flop and turn plays were not necessarily correlated. I.e. I did not call the flop planning to raise most turn cards.

So, can you talk briefly about a handful of turn cards that would have brought about different decisions on the turn with the same action to you and why?

Bump.
