I wonder if Pat will take measures to stop this.

If PT was my program, I wouldn't be happy at all.

Where'd you hear this?

I have a problem with PV being $50 in reference to PT being $55. Ironically if PT was $100 I wouldn't care as much for PV being priced as it is.

My biggest problem is that PV doesn't work half the time and I end up using GT+ anyway. Also, I only play on Party & skins (or UBet or Stars) for about 35% of my monthly hands anyway.

PV probably isn't worth it to microlimits player, but for those multi-tabling 2/4+ it probably is.

Please explain why Pat would care.

I'm not sure to say PT is more complex would be accurate. Sure, it performs many operations but PV I would venture a guess has much more coding in it.

This is a ludicrous statement. PT parses various poker sites various hand history formats, tracks players, computes a large number of stats for every player, stores this info in a database, does the same thing for SnG's and multi-table tourneys, including differentiating between the various types of tourneys (entry chip, cash payout, satellite) not to mention the various types of ring game play (various limits, NL levels) tracking all the various stats in appropriate discreet ways for each level. AND it has a game time function to display stats for players at a table you're currently playing.

PV does this last little bit and displays it on your Party windows (in a customizable format).

I would venture a guess that the hand history parsing in PT is more code than PV.

This not meant to belittle PV. It is obviously a usefull proggy. But to compare the complexity or the amount of code in PV with PT is laughable.

If anything, I'd say he'd be happy as it adds an feature to PT (albeit for extra money) that a competitor (pokeroffice) already has.

I can explain why I would care, I didn't mean to imply that Pat would or wouldn't.

Someone using my work to make a simple add-on to make as much money as me would strike me as borderline criminal.

It's mentioned on the PV forums, of all places.

IMO, this is the issue here, a stable perfect running playerview is easily worth $50 to me. I have been using the program for a good while and have dealt with the little bugs and have not had a problem with them because it was a free program. But now with a $50 price tag I expect it to be a completely professional program with zero bugs and the stats displaying perfectly all of the time.

So all commercial software must have 0 bugs and work perfectly? How much commercial software do you use?

[/ QUOTE ]

Work perfectly was a bit strong and incorrect, but IMO it should be a lot more reliable than it currently is.

I wander how he actually does feel about this, I'd like to know he wouldn't actually care like you think he might, Lori, before I shell out $50, which as a multi-tabler, I might regrettingly have to.
