Do you not think that perhaps she was saying that to try to get a reaction from him? She was looking at him as she said it. If he's got Aces or Kings, she's in big trouble and if she can somehow detect a tell by saying that...then she can know to lay it down?

I'm not trying to defend her because I think her play was pretty horrible at the TV table, but...

What hands is she *not* in trouble against? Don't tell me you think KT or QJ is in the range here.

She wasn't looking for a tell; she was struggling against her urge to gamble it up.

After watching yesterdays episode and some of the smaller events won by fish, to me the wsop has become a joke. This is no longer a tournament about skill but about who can make the worst call and be the luckiest.

I think you have a point that it is getting worse but keep in-mind how few hands you really see on TV vs. the number of hands played that pretty much go by-the-book.

The WPT and just about all tournaments have their share of people who really don't know what they are doing. ESPN is just making a point to highlight those hands and those players.

I really wonder after seeing her call an all-in for all her chips with the A7o, though.

That's not the same as Ferguson moving in on Cloutier to take control of the hand and force a decision.

It's just dumb.

She moved all-in with her A-7 and that Sheik guy called with his pocket Queens on that hand. Nothing wrong with her forcing him to make the decision on that hand. Unfortunately for her, he had Siegfried and Roy but fortunately for her, she hit an ace on the board.

I don't know how I feel about Black talking during the hand. I'm not sure it's bad etiquette when (1) he was still in the hand himself and (2) he didn't give any information out about his hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. I think too many are looking to nit-pick everything shown on TV. As long as he is involved in the hand and not discussing his hand he can say what he wants.

I wonder what Raymer was thinking after he got called by AJo.

Poor Greg. He looked like someone just told him he had the 'big casino.' I have to think he had visions of this chick sucking out on him with her fishhooks . I can't imagine he would have thought this donkey would call with A-J but I'm sure after that hand he kept a good eye not to get too mixed up with her.

It will be interesting to see the action at Binions. Last year the donkey play wasn't really highlighted unless you include Mattias' numerous coinflips and antics. Otherwise the amateurs played fairly solid near the end. If this happens again then the tournamnet is not a joke. If good players who are not pros make it tot he end and play good poker then it is still a worthwhile effort. If..it is a table of 8.5 donkeys (Mattusow is at least .5 donkey)then yes it is truly a joke.

Pros were far more successful this last year than in 2004. Once you get as many players as there are in a tournament, luck has an even bigger role than it usually has.
