[/ QUOTE ]

Because you are ignorant about good music?

Don't you think where you live has alot to do with what you are exposed too, granted I can find all of these bands but if no-one in my region is listening to them then I have to be a disadvantage compared to a region where this kind of music is prevelant.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree to an extent. I hear about this stuff through friends, and opening acts for shows and what not. But...really with the internet the answer to this is "no".

Armageddon made $200 million. More than 62 million people voted for Bush.

Just because the masses like something doesnt make it good. And just because they dont, doesnt make it bad.

But, if you dont want to put the effort in, thats up to you. But, I get a lot more out of music that tends not to get a lot of mainstream play.

[/ QUOTE ]

How would you hear about them? I don't know [censored] about art, and I don't expect to hear who made the best out door installation this year.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I know the internet makes it pretty easy but you have to know at least one band in that genre that can lead you into all the other good music that is out there.

I know of one person in real life who even knows half the bands on this list. The internet makes finding music easy in any region.

This is very true. Once you get in though it's really easy. Most of us, can't keep up with all the new music.

Re: Nominations for Best \"Rock\" Album of 2005

people who argue about music and try to tell other people their music 'sucks' and they are stupid for listening to it are idiots. music is all personal preference. how can someone be wrong for liking something like music?
