dunno why, just sums up the movie for me-

I quoted from Robert Hass's translation, although I may have mistyped a little. I think my copy of Malte Laurids Brigge is Mitchell. I remember it was excellent.

What's crazy about this is that I read the book before I saw the movie, and I remember the line from the book was "I want to have your abortion" and they replaced it with this (Palahniuk talks about it on the commentary DVD too). There's a couple of other things from the book that are "toned down" for the movie (for instance in the book they get the fat from constantly overstuffing Marla's mother instead of the lipo clinic), but I always thought that the movie rendition of this line was actually more potentially offensive than the book one. Oh well.

I don't know that i can think of a greatest quote of all time, but as far as movie lines, I'll have to go with:

"3000 years of tradition from Moses to Sandy Koufax, you're god damn right I'm living in the (censored) past!"

This is your favorite quote of all time?

Newsflash - this quote has been around for a long time, just not necessarily with "poker" as the subject.
