Re: tourney win, too much tip?

1. I've heard from several dealers at Foxwoods, for example, that the worst game in the room to deal tip-wise is the 75/150 Stud game, and the best is 4-8 hold'em.

2. I've played at a place where the dealers are at a certain risk in just being there and dealing the game. 8-10% on tourneys and $2 a hand on average for 10-20 hold'em seems the least I can do.

are the local 30/60 players just cheap bastards?

They aren't cheap, they just don't overtip. $1/pot is PLENTY. A good dealer will get out at least 30 hands/hr. If he gets a buck a pot, he's making more than I do as a teacher.

do you know that TIP stands for "To Insure Promptness"

I can reason that out to never tip any dealer ever again

Chip Runner $1

Blind Steal -- 0
Very small pot $.50
Most Pots $1.00
Over $100 in pot $2.00

I do give $1 to the chip runners (or go to the cage myself). I don't ever give $0.50 tips - it lets some of of the cheap asses know that $0.50 is even an option. I also don't give $2.00 on large pots, I tip $1.00 very consistently.
