You need to learn to embrace variance if you really want to succeed at poker. It is part of the game and you need to get used to it.

Fold the flop. Your implied odds are countered by the paired board, in a dangerous flop. Calling is better on a paired flop like 229 rainbow where there is less chance of being behind.

I would have folded the flop.
You got 4 out to the inside STR8 + 1.5 BDF - Pair on board. You could hit your STR8 or Flush and still lose to a House or higher Flush
