I'm really not happy with the way I played the final table, especially 3 handed. I have just about zero experience at MTT FTs, and I'm awful short-handed with deep stacks. I was pretty card dead and just ended up taking a few stabs to stay afloat.

Wow. Rivered. That sucks, bones. Interestingly enough, he played that hand very similarly to the way you played the previous hand you posted, where you got him to fold on the turn.

I'm in the same spot as you, regarding MTT's. I play so many SNG's on Empire, and started recently just having fun in the cheaper multi's. I've realized that I need to make the shift from loose aggro back to tight aggro, once in the middle of the money. Perhaps it's the same for you.

It's because when you get close to the bubble, and also for the beginning portion of being in the money, you often want to steal a lot. If you're not doing the super-rebuy strategy, then the blinds are a huge portion of your stack during the near-bubble time, and loose aggro stealing is the way to go.

But I often fail to make the shift back to being tight. Because at some point, all the small/mid-stacks get eaten up by the big stacks, and then you have a situation with super-deep stacks and only moderate blinds. Thus, it's much more expensive to steal, and not as worthwhile. You can always try to outplay your opponents, as you and Perg were doing, but it's easier to just play the basic tight aggro game for a while, until the table catches on and doesn't give you any action, at which point it's time to start stealing again.

Anyway, nice results. Couldn't have done much better, even if you think you could have played better. There was only 1 more spot to go.
