I really like Barry's raise there on the turn.

If he thinks his overs are live and puts Frank on a pure flush draw, he's basically buying a free river card if the turn is a brick or a spade. Frank is so passive he won't bet the turn facing the flop raise and it could go check check in barry's favor.

I disagree with that comment about most of 2p2'rs not liking the raise for information line. Most people here just think that alot of players these days don't know HOW to raise for information. They do stupid things at stupid times in general, but the information raise is a commonly bastardized move.

Seems I picked the right night to stick the thread in this forum, it's now 3 20k+ hands in a little over an hour.

Bart's forgetting Barry W's 26k hand v Kenna James on a Friday night. I'm sure there's another hand or two that were in that 22-25k range.

Basically, I posted an example from Reuben/Ciaffone's <u> NL and PL Poker </u>. You raise with AA and get several callers. On the flop an early position caller puts out a medium-sized bet into you with your overpair. He doesn't specify a flop texture or stack sizes.

You still have many players to act behind you. Ciaffone says to call, I asked about raising to get some information (as well as charge draws) and got blasted by all but one poster.

Dude shut up already! There is nothing wrong with thinking about the call. He had to think about it, but that doesn't mean he wasn't gonna make the call. Its "only" 3500 to call, but he still can think about it. Its only an "insta-call" for you because you're sitting in that room.
