Pete Carrol knew what was going on and knew they'd get it right. That's why he wasn't even upset.

At the 3, they just back up and throw it, then go kick the field goal. Wow. Best game of CFB I have ever seen, including the Miami-Ohio State game for the championship a while back.

It doesn't happen. That'd be crazy, the return TD or something like that.

Wow, USC pulls one out of their ass.

I don't see how he couldn't. He's had big numbers and come up big in the games when he was needed.

Leinhart won the heisman on the last drive.

Observations on the final play

First, why would anybody think that USC was actually going to spike the ball? The clock was stopped because of the fumble out of bounds, and it wasn't going to start again until the ball was snapped.

Give credit to Reggie Bush for that final TD. Leinart was stopped cold, then Bush pushed him over the goal line. Heads up play by Bush, who is the Heisman frontrunner right now, IMO.

What a game.

Because they are the only two announcers that are dumb enough for ND to allow to broadcast their games.

I can't watch TV for the rest of the weekend. I am sick right now. That was brutal. 4th and 9....this sucked so bad. Worst game of all time.

How about Quinn not airball on 3rd down with a game-clinching TD on the line late in the 4th, or ND hold on 4th and forever on that drive?

1. Yes Quinn's pass was terrible, but I don't think the 1st down was automatic even if it is complete. Schwapp had 5-6 yards to go and he is not too fast.
2. 4th and 9 is hardly "4th and forever" for USC, and it took an absolutely perfect pass from Leinart to convert.
3. I never suggested that the refs were solely to blame. It was a terrible call and anybody with two eyes could see that. Why not point it out?

Hypothesis: Notre Dame will not lose another game this year.
