As for everyone who has been saying I can't do it, what if I can't. OMG, who cares? This is just something I have done to challenge myself. I think I have tried to emphasize that as this post has gone on, but what can yah do. I hope I can do it, I plan on doing it, so I guess we will see.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is not that you can't do it. No one can do it when 8-tabling. The point of a challenge is that the goal is reachable through hard work. But when you throw a silly number out it makes me wonder about your basic math skill. Didn't you figure out that to reach your goal you would have to non-stop 8-table for 100 out of 120 hours?

Re: another reply to what people have been saying

IMHO, it can be done.

Would it be reasonable to assume 30-50% more games played in the continuous fashion as opposed to sets? Seems like that could get your there. Anyone done any math on the continuous play method?

I would agree that it's not a great idea though. I personally have stupid poker dreams after I play for 10-12 hours, let alone for consequtive days. I don't really like waking up thinking "damn, why did i limp off 1/4th of my stack on Lvl. 6??? Oh, I was dreaming!"

Best of luck though if this is important to you. I truly believe you can do it.

Re: another reply to what people have been saying

The math sounded close playing in sets, surely the continuous fashion he is employing makes it more attainable?

Fatdogs12 09-24-2005 07:20 PM

Re: another reply to what people have been saying

I don't know what seems so unrealistic about it. I avg 40 minutes per game. That is about 12 games per hour 8 tabling. Do that 12 hours a day = 144 games per day.

Do that * 7 days and you got 1008 games. It is a lot of work but it's definitely possible and if you have someone with a real good work ethic how can work 15 hours a day (I am not one of those people btw) that is 1260 games.

This makes me want to start my own challenge.

I get slightly above 10 tables/hour playing continous.

Remove all sharp objects!

I'm never a fan of these kinds of challenges because you're trying to cram as many games in as possible over hours and hours. Your game will surely degrade. Not good for mental or physical health and you'll burn yourself out.

That being said, good luck!

This seems low. I figured I get around 6 while 4-tabling. Am I way off?

update #2

100 down today so far. I'm gonna take a break for now. That brings the total to about 282. Be back in an hour.

Re: Update #1

I don't care what anybody says, it sounds like a fun challenge and I hope you have a great time.

Re: update #2

I wonder how long it would take Raptor to do 1000 tables if he 20 tabled continous and worked many hours. dont know how someone could 12 - 20 table for 10 -12+ hours for 5 days straight. Good Luck Miami, I believe you can do it but not sure if you will or not yet.

Re: miami32\'s 1,000 SNG challenge in 5 days

I got my wisdom teeth pulled and the next day went to Game 5 of Pistons vs Nets 2 years ago. Id say getting them pulled affects one person way differently than another. I could played tons of poker when I got mine taken out. I felt pretty good. Anyways good luck Miami.

Re: update #2

Im confused, I saw your blog. It says nothing about your challenge and it said your getting your tonsuls(spelling?) taken out monday... wouldnt that cut into your 5 days? I was jsut curious. and any Updates?

miami32's 1000 in 5 day challenge:

Over 675:
(EVEN) O
(-110) U

Over 1000:
(-500) U
(+485) O

Who's taking what?

Update #3

I've knocked out 36 more which brings my total to 136 for the day. I'm 2 cases of redbull in and it's time to take a break for an hour. I will check out some of the posts and make a couple of replies but my back hurts and I need to get out of this chair. So replies, then 1 hour, break, and the more sitngos.

miami32 09-25-2005 04:52 AM

Re: update #2

I no longer have to get my tonsills taken out. The infection cleared up and they gave me the option of doing it or not doing it. I choose not. As for my blog, I hardly update and when I do it usually doesn't make sense.

miami32 09-25-2005 04:56 AM

Re: update #2

That's pretty funny. If I were to actually make the odds rights now based upon how I feel and how I've done it would go more like this-

Over675:
-750(o)
+500(u)

Over1000:

+400(O)
-750(U)

Don't be like that kid in Asia who played for 5 days and then died of exhaustion from playing an online game. I'm seriously not kidding.

tshort 09-25-2005 05:25 AM

Re: Update #3

If you are confident that 675 isn't the even over/under, what do you think it is now?

You have consumed 2 cases of Red Bull in under 3 days?

I hope you are talking about 4 packs or (do they have 6 packs)? It can't be the Sams Club 24 packs?

Aren't you hopped up on Oxycodone/Hydrocodone pain killers after getting your teeth pulled? Well, good luck and make sure to get a few hours of sleep.

I already said something like that. Sad thing is that you hear news like that every few weeks or months. (People in asia are CrAzY.)

But miami, you're doing good so far, and I hope you will do good in the rest of the challenge. Ignore all the people who say it can't be done.. Oh, and stop when you are feeling sick and dizzy and stuff, or when you feel a heart attack coming.

Just wanted to say congratulations and hope you finish the challenge. I think it is good when you set goals so don't let some of these people discourage you. Good luck.

Re: Update #3

"don't let some of these people discourage you"

Discourage?? He wanted to play 1000 sngs in 5 days 4-8tabling, and people should be surprised since this is almost impossible. Even if he was 8tabling continuously (ie not sets) he'd need to play for 18 hrs each day. He shouldn't have been surprised about the reaction he got. I don't think he'll make it, but who cares. He wants to play a shitload in 5 days and it looks like he'll do it. 500, 1000, both pretty big numbers.

Update#4

Total sitngo tournaments to date 392. I have just woken up. I haven't done the math so don't ask me for ROI. I know I can move up to the 30+3's now. I will later. I'm going back to bed now.

Out of interest why are you only starting with $120?? Someone who can 8-12 table have played enough to have a larger BR?? If you do have a larger BR, why only $120??

miami32 09-25-2005 07:02 PM

Re: miami32\'s 1,000 SNG challenge in 5 days

Mr. J,

Yeah I do have a larger bankroll. I decided to make things interesting by having a small amount and see if I would work my way up. Basicly win alot or go broke yah know. This changed as soon as I decided to go with the 10+1 to start. It was just a silly number I came up with.

Maulik 09-25-2005 07:09 PM

Re: miami32\'s 1,000 SNG challenge in 5 days

I am willing to wager any amount of $1000 that I can complete 1000 SNGs in 5 days 24*5 hrs = 120hrs.

If anyone is looking for this action we can plan accordingly for December.

Re: miami32\'s 1,000 SNG challenge in 5 days

That would give you like 300 freebies at the 5+1's where you could just join and push every hand if you are going to lose the bet.

So if anybody takes this, there should probably be a limit on how low you can play.
