Okay, so here's a little test:

AJo. raise pf, coldcalled by 40/10/1.5. flop JK2r. bet/call. Turn T, brings 2flush. What goes through your head?

A) I should bet because he'll call with a J, straight draw that just paired, PPs, sometmies A-hi. Gotta protect my hand, too.
B) I could bet... but it would suck SO much to get raised and i might have to fold... i dunno...i feel like i should bet...no just check and get to showdown cheap.
C) Man that Halle Berry chick is hot.
D) This TV show sure is interesting
E) Nothing, you just click whatever seems best at that moment.
F) Did I raise preflop or did he?

Hey MicroBob,

I understand why many people think this is a good idea for a mostly online player, but I think it could lead to bad news. As a 3/6 multitabler (6max and full) I think that live play will lead to bad news. When I play even 10/20 live, I get bored and start playing silly hands. I think the faster pace of online poker is needed to keep online players sane a lot of the time.

Re: plea for help (l/c...lock this)

That is somewhat true.
I don't play too much live because it kind of bores me much of the time.

I just remember playing a lot of live when I was in Vegas for the WSOP. I busted out on the first day so had lots of extra time to make my poker income the old-fashioned way. I had also bought a few poker books there (including Middle Limit Holdem by Ciaffone).

I didn't really expect it...but the combination of reading some new material (to me) and playing all that live poker really seemed to be helping me see the game more clearly.
Then again, I was running pretty well too at that time...and if it really did help my game it certainly didn't last very long as my play is totally in the crapper now.

this is exactly what went through my head too. Good to know all of us SSHUSHers are on the same page...

Hope it turns around soon Bob, i'd love to see a video of your work. We're feeling for you.

It's tomorrow, what's the over/under on your chick? I reckon 180lbs.
