I've encountered such persons fairly often in my life; and you probably have too. A goodly number of them can be found at the poker tables, although they usually represent the citified versions of the same.

Uncouth, loud, obnoxious people, obviously raised in barns or the equivalent, possessing not the slightest degree of respect for others; the sort of person who would heckle a speaker, or casually elbow you out of the way to get in the buffet line ahead of you. You know the type well, Cyrus, I'm sure. Why, then, defend them, or their inconsiderate and lowbrow actions?

No, I'm saying that's the stupidest post I've read in a long time. It's like you've got some scoop on her "pssst, according to my sources --- sometimes..." and then the big scoop is "she doesn't wear underwear." But it's not even that good...all your sources know is that she has a "reputation" for not wearing underwear.

Of course, it is not always done well. For a mixture of downright beastliness with artful heckling one needs to turn to the British Parliament.

I used the word reputation in the original post to mean that everyone knew that she didnt wear underwear (ie shes a ho), but that there was some doubt over whether or not she wore underwear. It's not that intertesting, but if that is the stupidest thing you have read on here in a while you are lucky.

You folks realize that these "Nazis" paid for the privilege of heckling Coulter. Likewise, Coulter was able to dab away her tears with the $16K she was paid.

If you aren't prepared to give her the common decency of allowing an invited speaker to speak, don't invite her in the first place. It's childish an immature to try to shout her down when she was an invited speaker.

You argument makes no sense, because the people who heckled her are SURELY not the same people who invited her to speak.

The reasons it was wrong are that what they did was immature, impolite, and counterproductive. They should have spent their energy focused on inviting a speaker to campus that they felt better reflected their views or better added to civilized debate.

There was a similar incident at my campus involving David Horowitz, another person who has managed to profit nicely from baiting college students into making him look like a victim.
