Usually i'm with you, but I couldn't disagree more with what you say here. Rakeback is irrelevant to me, but Party semed to have made a big mistake to me. The only reasonable explaination for their recent actions is that they don't see poker as their core future offering, reading through their recent interim statement has reinforced for me the view that this is in fact the case.

Party suggest they will seek more and more of their income from casino games, which is what I stated in a couple of my previous posts. No doubt the optimists who think this move is good for everyone will once again call me a fool for this. Such is life. ESADB.

Party is pretty big and probably has cash from the share issues plus steady cash flow, I expect them to be a company on the aquisition trail to be honest I expected them just to takeover Empire during the takeover talks recently I thought they would make a move rather than have a rival get onto their platform, this may be a masterstoke devalue them completely then absorb them into party.

They will expand and I am sure their business will change which is the main key point of the post people need to start adapting to change instead of bemoaning their luck.

Not if it was for a rare cancer.

[/ QUOTE ]

Let's see, PR value to the company for curing a rare childhood cancer, even at a loss, vs PR value to the company for refusing to produce the cure because it wouldn't be profitable.

Do you really think a corporation could kill a product like that without it being front page news or covered by cable news 24/7 for months?

[/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately it can be true. It is unlikely this was killed in a late stage (after making clinical trials and getting approved by FDA) before going to market. But it is well known that big pharma don't even bother to do research on rare forms of cancer (i.e. no siginificant return) or widespread diseases amongst poor poeple (see malaria). However DON'T shoot the pharma. They are no angels but they have no other choice. And they cure ppl. They don't run gambling sites.

My main point would be that they will most definitely start pushing the fish towards games where Party get 100% of the money, that may be good for Party, but it's one more new problem for poker players. The game may well be in for big changes, I think some people don't like to admit how important Party and skins have been to their success in poker.

You guys dont understand that Party is now a big corporate listed business and is starting to act like it. Many large companies make decisions that are unpopular with their client base but they move on regardless of complaints and most of their customers suck up and go with it.

[/ QUOTE ]

In todays business world, the idea of keeping your customers happy is paramount. All successful business go out of thier way to satisfy the needs and wants of thier consumers or they ultimately end up with no business and fail. From time to time, a company might do something that is unpopular with thier customers, but they quickly fix what has gone wrong and certainly dont do it again. I don't know what imaginary world you are living in, but in the real world, the customer comes first. without them, you have no business

[/ QUOTE ]

No they will what they think is the best for short and long term growth and expansion, the current customer does not always come first, has party upset the majority of their customers I suspect not and those that they have upset will either move to other sites or the majority will be on party cos its in their best interest ot be.

Spoken like a true know-nothing who thinks he knows everything. You go on for about 8 paragraphs saying nothing more than that Party is a business Then you misunderstand that, like any business, to be successful Party must consider its customer base.

Ironic that someone who chastises others for having no real-world experience obviously has such little business sense.

Useless anti-business tirade with zero content.

Which is the time they can say "we have a cure".

Significantly different from stopping a product they had completed.

I frequently compare online-poker rake-back policies to finding a cure for cancer.

Aren't they one and the same?

Do you realize how much money they make off of treating that?

[/ QUOTE ]

So, there wouldn't be any money in curing it?

The mistake people are making i thinking their majority customer base posts on 2+2 and had rakeback on the skins.

I'm sorry Bob I could never get mad at you, it wasn't my comparison though.
