Seinfeld

I'd be surprised and ashamed if that was in the top 100 for British people.

Blackadder and Red Drawf for me, probably South Park is funniest NA comedy.

I've never seen a single episode of Seinfeld. He comes on, he looks just like Tony Blair to me, so I turn off the TV. I know it sounds dopey, but it's true.

This thread has persuaded me to give it a go again, though. I do think I may be missing out there.

Will and Grace is the weird one. I don't like it, but I find myself watching it cos I think the squeaky-voiced one is hot as hot can be. How FU am I, huh?

Forgot about South Park.

There was a old comedy that was pretty good that I dont remember the name of but was him from the Naked Gun films probably in the same role as he was a detective and was the same sort of humour.

While 'Seinfeld' is the answer, 'I Love Lucy' is the template upon which all U.S. sitcoms are based.

Agreed. On a side note, I think I love lucy was the first to introduce the 4 camera style that pretty much every sitcom has always used (until recently with AD I think).

Oh, the UK contingent are here. Hi guys!

What you guys say about Porridge? Steptoe and son?

I think SaS is, despite being popular and long-running, an underappreciated masterpiece of writing and playing myself, but what do I know.

I love Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Python, Towers and everything, but I suspect the best show ever was Spitting Image at it's peak.

Right. Also the first to tape in front of a live audience. Arnaz had to design and build a studio to make this possible.

That's a good point. A lot of it's great sketches I remember to this day - and I might have seen them only once

I remember one with Thatcher and the cabinet at a table, and a waitress comes in...

waitress: And what would you like for lunch
Thatcher: Raw steak please
waitress: And the vegetables?
Thatcher: They'll have the same!

hehehe

There are so many to choose from, this is rather a hard question to answer; I will have to pick:

I love Lucy
Seinfeld
Cheers
