I prefer the new forum - as a newbie to this whole BW thing having it all in one place is better for me, as I don't have to wade through dozens of threads to find the ones I am interetsed in (given my lack of internet time)

Give Jek some latitude here. He's always tried to help others with issues in the past, and I'm sure he has only good intentions for this new bonus forum.

I realize there is a sticky explaining the situation, I just still feel like the forum title is misleading, regardless of your intentions. To me, the forum title suggests "come in here, and talk about all the best internet bonuses!", when the real purpose is "come in here, and talk about all of the bonuses affiliated with bonuswhores.com!".

Well sure, my analogy isn't perfect, but surely you can understand my point behind it? Sorry, but Bonuswhores.com does not account for 99% of the bonuses in the world.

Having said all of that, I will still read the new forum, I just wanted to give my feedback on the whole thing.

I did not intend any of my replies as Jek-bashing. I have a lot of respect for Jek, and I have gotten much use out of his site and given him much of my business, and referred many of my friends to do the same. My reply isn't about Jek, it is more about 2+2. I guess we have come to think of 2+2 as a public forum and not the commercial entity that it is, and this new forum is just a reminder that that isn't the case.

The longest title on the left appears to be books/publications/software. Unless I miscounted, that's 24 characters. If someone can come up with a more descriptive title in that space, I will take it up with Chuck. I *want* BW's name on the left menu, and brought this up when we were discussing the forum. To this point, we've done the next best thing by explaining things in the sticky, and having the "full name" in the title of the sticky.

Basically, the standard bonuses offered by pokerrooms, casinos, and sportsbooks account for 99% of the bonuses. BW's few exclusive bonuses add to that. The ones that are off limits, account for that 1%.

regarding the topic of this thread. here is my .02

it seems like some of the objections are based on the fact that this new forum has been placed in the center of the "real" forums.

if i were jek, i would rather have a left bar link that more resembles the merchandise icons. i think if this were moved to it's own area, and can even be made red and bigger, that may make both sides happy. this would eliminate the grey area of the forum looking non-commercial, yet pay jek off by moving his link to the top and make it bigger and bolder.

i dunno. just a thought
