On second thought, the OP used the terms "Conservative" and "Liberal" rather than "Republican" and "Democrat". So it all gets a bit confusing;-)

Anyway, doesn't "Liberal" usually tend to go with "Democrat"? (at least more than the inverse).

In sum I think the OP's point is flawed, and rather...well, pointless.

I agree with you, and I get your point, I do feel both sides wanted to fix those issues but again I feel the republican side has better solutions to fix the problems. Democratic solutions are things like affirmitive action, while they have good intentions their solutions just aren't very good.

there is the mudslinging with no content. Liberalism = democrat, conservative = republican for 95% of people that is safe to say so he IMPLIED republican parties. Read in between in the lines and dont call people names, makes you sound like an idiot.

Your answer to his claim was to dispute with with misleading and incomplete facts that again generalize states. This whole red state blue state thing has gotten out of hand.

It is proven that most governament handouts occur in inner cities which are mostly democratic.

Democrats are still 100+ years behind the curve.
 

The GOP is rightly proud of its tradition of supporting true equality of opportunity since before the Civil War.

While the Democrats played with race, being anti-black when it garnered them votes of whites (from reconstruction onwards) and then switching to creating special priviledges for minorities when that seemed to be a better vote getter.

The GOP believes correctly that all people should have the same opportunities of success, and should gain their success based on their merit. For over a hundred years, one party has "got it" - its about fundamental fairness, not gimmicks of pro-raceX or anti-raceX.

Of course, the tax policy and economic policy of the GOP is also based on the fundamentally right principle of letting people earn and prosper on merit, and keeping the government out as much as possible.

Actually, the people who founded our country were mostly Deists, which is not Christianity at all.
