You shouldn't even be able to log in to PE without updating it. The version u have on your PC is old and that's why they found the exe. With the new update they can't find anything "for now" as it changes the exe file everytime you log in. Seems they don't even know this and just use you as an example to show everybody that they are serious. I use PE and have no problem at all after the update.

I'm indifferent about HUD's and what-not.

I'm still adamant about party/skins cust-serv though.
They are making roughly $1-zillion-trillion-quadrillion per day in rake and they evidently put roughly 0.0000000000000000000001% of that into their customer ervice operations.

Compare that to pokerstars (and paradise and a couple others) where you KNOW that a situation or misunderstanding such as this would be handled fairly quickly and competently (at least not ignored) and it just ticks me off.

Pokerstars had lightning-fast responses back in the days when they had 2k players during weekend peak-hours (when I first started playing there in Feb, 2003).
If they could do it then when they certainly weren't pulling in as much money as they are now then it stands to reason that Party/skins could get their act together and actually freaking respond to such situation as Miah's.

For this reason as well I don't think it's too much to ask that they contact poker-edge users with an e-mail that specifically references poker-edge if that is the product they have a problem with.
They sent out these stupid generic e-mails to save time trying to inform people to stop using the 'bad' products but it is very difficult to even know what those are without having to do some research.
This shouldn't be necessary. Why do the players here have to research it and wait forever for a repsonse?
If Empire has a problem with poker-edge then just take the time to tell the player 'Hi....we don't want you using poker-edge anymore.'

Same treatment of their customers who were supposedly 'abusing' their bonuses. All they had to do was tell their players ahead of time and/or not offer them the bonus.

Empire has impressed me yet again with their incompetence and rudeness.
But I still like the free TV they sent me!!

Instead of sending out all these warning e-mails why don't they just confiscate every player's money and retire rich in a tax haven?. It's not like anyone can do anything to stop them.

Re: Empire Account Closed

PokerEdge did take this too far, PokerStars seems to be sound about this. Here is from another thread:

Hello,

I've looked at this site's offering, and I agree with you that the data
he's selling is mostly worthless and shouldn't be feared. He's simply
walking the list of Sit and Go events to find out who won. The results
often have nothing to do with skill (though longer term they will) -- he's
just making very general assumptions based upon a player's finishes,
without regards to the cards.

Not to be a fearmonger, but we're far more concerned with the likes of
http://www.pokeredge.com or http://members.cox.net/starspy, both of which
track far more comprehensive statistics hand by hand.

In any case, we're well aware of the fears of players regarding
datamining. A certain amount of profiling will simply have to be a part
of online poker (such as offered by PokerTracker.com in concert with
GameTime+, or via pokeroffice.com). Profiling of players that *you* have
played against personally is one thing, and we're unlikely to prohibit
that. (It sounds like we're on the same page on that issue). Mass
datamining and aggregating of data is something else entirely, and we are
always looking ahead and formulating plans on how to best deal with such
programs should they migrate to PokerStars.

Thanks for your feedback and for giving us a heads up on this guy. We'll
be ready for him.

Best Regards,

Jeff

8:30am July 12, still no response. I believe they just don't care about the business of one customer, no matter how big it was.

Isn't this the ironic part? I wasn't even using the software, I wasn't even playing hold em. Yet those who continue to use it go unpunished. They really need to get their head out of their ass.

I don't buy it, I call bullshit. pokeredge.exe doesn't exist anymore. The name of the application has been changed. I think the poster might be furthering the spread of rumors. Until we start seeing a bunch of these emails I don't believe it.
