Ending relationships is never easy. I ended a 4 1/2 year realationship not too long ago. It usually has nothing to do wih how nice the other person is but more about people growing apart. You just have to remember that it is for the best. She will get over it as you will.

You're not a bad person for breaking up with someone.

You love her, you're not happy together, you did the right thing.

You Made the Correct Decision
 

If your not happy then get out with no regrets.
What would have been crueler (to both of you) to string her along further.

Be a man, dump her, and find someone else.

I just had a long conversation with a female friend of mine who broke up with her boyfriend of two years. There was no fight, no wrongdoing, nothing to trigger the breakup - only that she realized she was never going to be happy in the long run. They had been serious enought that they had gone ring shopping at one point.

I think it takes a lot of courage and strength to end something that serious with someone you care about the way you did. Just try and realize that if you weren't happy, it never would have worked for her either. It's okay to feel bad about her being hurt right now, but you did do her a favor by breaking up.

That's good to hear. And trust me, there are enough self-centered, immature juveniles on this forum it's good to hear somebody with some perspective.
