Don't rely on security to card the players, do so yourself if you are the supervisor.

I'm not sure what the law is elsewhere. But here in CO, any casino employee is obligated to card anyone suspected of being underage or looking underage. Supervisors, dealers, wait staff, cage, etc. Everyone. It was repeatedly pounded into our heads at orientation.

I know two dealers who have been canned for underage players being carded at their tables by CO Div. of Gaming. Therefore, I say "Stay the hell out until you are 21!"

We found one today too.

A fake $50 was discovered by our TD when a guy tried to buy into a tourney tonight. I guess there are plenty of them around.

It always saddens me to hear how many people are so dead-set against allowing people under 21 to play, and in essence implying that they aren't capable of understanding the inherent risk that any form of gambling takes. 18-year-olds are old enough to sign up to fight in the military, and that carries, as we know, the greatest risk of all. Yes, you are correct sir, many 18-year-olds don't have the earning power to sustain high losses. Then again, so do a lot of the 30-year-old construction workers who take their Friday pay to the casino and throw away more than they can afford, too... This will solve your moral dilemma of whether or not to allow someone who is allowed to drive a car, fight a war, and elect the most powerful elected official in the world, the right to spend their earned money however the hell they please.

I hope that I, as a poker player who started when I was 17 years old and turn 21 this upcoming Tuesday, do not sicken you as much as people who bring children to a buffet.

Uneducated gambling is the problem, not 18+ gambling.

I agree with many of your points but the fact remains, the legal age to gamble in the state of Mississippi is 21. There are always exceptions to the rule. I know 12 year olds that are mature enough to drive and 30 year olds that still shouldn't be driving. I can't tell you how many 40 year olds that can't handle a night in a casino. Maturity level and money management are amoung the things required. A casino is adult entertainment and should remain that way. This isn't to say there aren't people out there that are 16 that could do just fine at a poker table or handle the casino just fine. The law says 21..

Jeffage, thats hardly foolproof. There are fakes that can pass even that ammount of scrutiny.

If a fake passes that amount of scrutiny, I won't have any problem spending it.

Play at a less strict casino if you are underage? Do you actually arrest people for that there? It seems there are discussions about this all the time on the forums here and the worst result (as long as no fake IDs are involved) is getting booted from the casino. Of course you could have her arrested but would you really have done that?

[/ QUOTE ] It's not up to me, but I do feel that if your in the casino underage your aware of what could happen. The reason why most underage people are booted is because they're not dumb enough to show an I.D. showing their underage. If they did they would go to jail. If the question is "Would I turn in someone I knew to be underage?", the answer is undoubtably yes.

wow in ac this is definately negitive ev. If you ask for a young fish to be carded and he pulled the old ahhh i forgot my id, id be pretty pissed.

who are you the god damn gaming comission? And what was the point of your post... to scare the kiddies away from the casinos. You look down on parents brining kids to the buffets... maybe you should just stfu, and mind your own business. Worry about your own problems and not tell others what to do.

You have to understand where Chipr777 is coming from before you get all high and mighty and look like an ass. No, he is not the gaming commision, but this is his business! He is a dealer and most certainly could lose his job if he was dealing to a person he knew was underage. So maybe you should STFU before spouting off from your pie hole!
