if she likes Reisling, try an Ice wine sometime. I little more expensive, but an enjoyable treat.

The Riesling you're thinking about, and comparing to ice wine, is sweet. There's a whole class of dry (non-sweet) rieslings as well, including the Trimbach I use, which is definitely the type you'd want for this recipe, or to drink with a meal.

This general concept (cook with wine, drink the rest of the bottle with the meal) is a good one.
