Come and live here in England. All gambling tax here is taken from casino's and bookie's profits rather than players pockets.

You're supposed to pay taxes on the money whether or not you cashed it out. Income is income. Read this tread

I looked through that - not all 16 pages lol - but I don't see anything that says a part time player must pay taxes on poker. Hell, most people don't even know exactly what they've won or loss. If the IRS asks, they will just say "I broke even". lol

Yeah, that's a problem if you don't know how much you've won or lost. So, the only thing they can track is your cashouts then. Last year, I only took out $500, if they ask, i'll say i sold something online.
