First a question -- How did you buy SS2?

Now my opinion on the worth of SS1.
If you like poker books in general then by all means buy this book!

I have most of the better poker books that are on the market. I buy them not because I'm looking for a magic bullet that will improve my game, but because I like reading about poker (and I love playing it as well). As of today I'd say SS1 is probably my favorite book on No Limit Holdem. Doyle has a unique style in both playing and writing, and this is one of my favorite poker books. His book is the one that taught me how to play NL, and even after reading other NL books I still recommend SS1 to most players. Doyle hammers, Hammers, HAMMERS home the point that aggression is the key to NL like no other book, and this concept is still not outdated.

Re-read my post, I didn't buy it.

Again, as I said, the NL chapter is reprinted in SS2.

As for SS1, since I already paid for it, I suppose I'll eventually read it. But I still regret my purchase, and nothing anyone has said has changed this fact.
