Michael Moores film spells it all out.

Wow..... Michael Moore's film is nothing but lies, lies, and more lies. You must really have no idea what the actual facts are if you believe that. Read this:

And it's not like this is some partisan Republicans writing this; Chris Hitchens is one of the most staunch Democrats there is.

Re: quote for discussion...

jesus christ, i have only responded to this like 50 times, keep saying the same thing please...we werent attacked by iraq, but "the powers that be" certainly did a good job of convincing americans that we were. since many polls of "everyday" americans seemed to show that they thought it was saddam who attacked us. They may have thought this since bush hasnt brought up saudi arabia every and hardly says anything about afghanistan anymore. i dont understand why no one thinks it is the least bit suspicious that we chose to ignore saudi arabia(where most of the terrorists on the 9/11 planes were from/harbored by and instead we jump straight into starting a war with iraq with no plan for the second time in 15 years. what a spectacular idea...

Read sleeping with the devil- by an ex-cia agent who was trying to warn the Cia about the risk from the Saudi's. He explains very clearly why our government has an dwill continue to ignore them as a threat.

We weren't? Read the article I posted in my previous reply to this thread.

Edit:

and hardly says anything about afghanistan anymore

So I guess the Afghani elections weren't in the news at all this week....

And as far as Saudi Arabia is concerned, they may be hiding there, but where do you think the CIA caught 75% of Al Qaeda's leadership?

wow, way to take what i said wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of context. i said that bush doesnt talk about afghanistan being a threat much anymore. but apparently he does because afghanistan has "been in the news lately" because they had elections. that is nowhere close to what i was talking about.

To be completely accurate you need some ellipsis in that quote. The exact quote is here:

Re: quote for discussion...

If George W. Bush loses this election it will be due to the war in Iraq. You can't possibly say that the war in Iraq has helped Bush's election chances. The U.S. is divided on the war around 50-50 and I think recent polls show that most voters believe the U.S. made a mistake in going to war in Iraq. I don't see how this supportes the Goering quote in the least.
