this is simply about competition. the town of colma desperately wants the tax revenue generated by allowing no-limit betting, it could care less how fast gamblers flush away their lives.

Very good. Hopefully I can get back to flushing mine.

$40-$200 spread is a great game. I played it there yesterday. Nobody has a clue. Problem is it's not going to last in its current format.

haak,

In relation to fixed-limit games, how big would you estimate it was playing?

Pretty big. About 80-160ish. Sam B. seemed to be the only one who adjusted well to the new structure.

the funniest thing is that the $200 max bet applies to ALL the games (including Pai Gow) - so literally the 20/40nl and the 1/1/2nl had the same max bet!.....I was meeting a fellow 2+2er there to do some drinking and some donking in the 2/3/5nl, and people were seriously cold-calling 200 preflop....while certainly profitable, it didn't feel like NL so we decided to go down to the 1/1/2 where it felt more like NL since the max-bet is closer to the stack sizes (it's not really fun to be drunk and yell "ALL IN!" only to be told that you can only bet 1/4 of your stack)..... Re: The Death of a Good Friend

coltrane,

I am SO going to do this: I will have like an $800 stack or something and then when someone bets and I am bluffing I will go "ALLIN" and then the dealer will be like "max bet $200 sir" and then I will be like "WTF I want to bet $800 ALLIN!!!!" and then the dealer will say "sorry sir, house rules $200 max" and then I will go "damn that sucks" and then everyone will be like "whoa that guy must have one hell of a hand" and fold and then I will show them the bluff!!!!!!

then all eight limpers will be like "whoa that guy must have one hell of a hand" but then decide to cold-call the 200 anyway and then I will flop 992 (nut full house) and take down a moster pot as QJo and 34s chase me all the way down to the river!!!
