He's a great quarterback 1/1, 1TD pass

and Eli looked very good, too. He came into a very hostile environment and had his best game. He looked very poised and confident. He took some big shots, and did not break in half.

I didn't see the game so bear with me...was it really that hostile? I mean, it is San Diego, home of the perpetual blackout.

I was there last night. I live in SD, but I moved here from NY about 4 years ago (so I'm a huge Giants fan). Yeah, the crowd was the loudest I've ever heard. I expected the San Diego fans to be soft, but they brought it. They're still pretty weak when it comes to sports (you get the feeling that they were booing on cue), but they definitely were loud and sounded pissed. Not trying to bang on San Diego, but I think it would be tough to argue that it's a great sports town. I will say though, that there were a lot of Giants fans there and, for the most part, the San Diego fans were respectful.

My favorite sign from last night: "Hey Eli, San Diego picks Winners not Whiners." Hey, jerkass, San Diego DID pick Eli.

I like how some fans were chanting "Eli Sucks" this is after he had already thrown for 350+ yards 2 TDs and 0 Ints. It does suck for Charger fans that they did not get Eli, but at the same time it was brilliant how Eli called BS on the Chargers management for the crap they tried to pull on him less then a week prior to the draft last year.

Blah, blah, blah, blah...

All these Giants fans are trying to take solace in the fact that their boy threw for 350. Who cares? San Diego has one of the worst pass D's in football, and the Giants were down the whole game (most of it by a lot) and running the ball was not an option. Who cares about 350 passing yards when the other team scores twice as many points as you? Manning would rather have the win than nice stats, and Giants fans should too. Same with bro Peyton, beautiful stats, but where's the win in the big game on the road?

The phrase "Eli Sucks" doesn't necessarily refer to his skills as a quarterback.
