Didn't like the 77 calldown either, I don't mind the QQ hand, but I also think that I like getting to SD with it more.

Since no one mentioned this hand I guess it's standard play, but I would still like to get some input on it.

4:57 6-handed
A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the SB. UTG (44/21/1.4) limps, button (41/14/0.9) raise, you call, BB (52/34/2.6) calls.
Is this a standard preflop call against bad opposition? I believe I would have folded it, based on the button only being 14 % PFR and the BB being 34 % PFR.

As for the QQ hand. I very much doubt the opponent will fold to your turn bet, so surely a bet-call and possibly fold the river must be better than bet-fold?

At like 12 min in

You have 88 with 1 spade you raise, sb and bb call.

flop is As 9s Ts

SB check raises you, bb folds.

If big blind calls do you fold?

you call.

Turn is an offsuit 9
he bets you call.

river blanks he bets you fold.

I'll often peel the flop and fold the turn, or call turn and call river.

I think he either has a bigger spade or a bigger pair, sometimes both. Do you think we have enough equity to call on the turn here always? If we do, do you think we have enough equity to call a river bet ever?

blake

if he has any aggression in him at all id pay him off on the river. with the T9 on the board there are lots of straight draws that also can have a spade. i think youll see QJ, KJ, 98, etc. with one spade pretty often

Great video. I was wondering when you had the QQ what was the purpose of the donk bet when an ace fell on the turn? I don't understand that tactic.

Is it to make him fold kings or something?

posting blind...

first hand k9s. do you really want to open with 2 lagtards behind you?

kjs hand. i love it.

a8s in the sb. i fold there. i dunno tho.

ajs hand. i would call and hope to pair up or hit a flush. i never thought there was much folding equity in situations like that. can that guy really lay down ak, aq. is his range really wide enough that hes has kq, qj, q10,a10 and other garbage?

ak hand where you turned a k on a x10qk board. are you checkraising that turn?

78s hand in the sb. i wuss out after the 3bet. maybe i should start capping for river fold equity. i dont think theres many players that this is correct against tho.

after reading some responses about the qq hand i just want to say that, as it happened, i was saying to myself,"check and call down." wasnt too sure what was correct so i didnt mention it. still not sure but since jeff said it....

yeah, im unsure about the QQ hand mostly...i guess everyone wants me to checkcall down.

once i bet it though, am i really good 1 in 6 times to call it?

tstonembd agrees with you on this one, and you are probably right, but as it stands i need to gain VERY little fold equity to make it a +EV checkraise. it's probably super close.

i think these two statements are contradictory, i am good more often in the 77 hand than the QQ hand IMHO.
