why does it always seem that newbies who suck and complain about bad beats losing to others who chase all way with garbage hands suchas any ace and little pairs also have poor spelling and bad punkuation and dont seem to have a shift key that works?

Re: 2-4 game blowing me out!!!!!

Well, every game i have played in 2-4 live, the players are worse than .5-1 online. However, i have lost on 3 out of 4 trips i have made to AC. I normally play at least 20 hours each weekend i go. So, after 80 hours of live play, i am down about $200. However, there is no way in hell that i am a losing player in these games. The problem is that i have only played about 2k hands. It sucks. Variance is a bitch. Have you played any online poker? Are you a winning player after 20k hands or more?

The last 3 times I've played 2/4 live, I left down (one of those times I was down $1 after an 8 hr session. Players were completely aweful, and game was so loose....like 8 to a flop. The problem is in one night of live poker, your only going to get so many hands against these players (compared to online, where I mostly play.) If I could play in this same game, against the same players, every week, I'd be up in the long run. In short, your sample size is too small.

thats the thing. you dont play the same players. yes i will win in the long run if i play the same people.but people are always coming in and out all the time in a 2-4 game. and i have played on line and its very hard to beat. i like to look at the players iam playing. if i cant see who iam playing then poker becomes all luck right? today iam moving up to the 5-10 and i will see if its any better.i will let you all know how i did.

Re: 2-4 game blowing me out!!!!!

A couple of important points.

1. The B&M 2/4 is widely considered to be unbeatable. The rake is generally $4/hand plus $1 jackpot, plus $1 toke. That's $6/hand x 30 hands per hour. This adds up to 45BB/hour off the table. If 10 sit at the table, your contribution is 4.5BB/hour. This is almost impossible to overcome. I seriously doubt there are any long term winners at 2/4 B&M play.

2. Your post demonstrates several errors in thinking that suggest you would not be a winning player in that game, even if it were not raked. The harsh reality of the situation is that you appear to suck at poker. Study the game more. Look for your errors and listen to the players here. 2+2 has the largest collection of winning players anywhere. If they tell you that you suck, you suck. It is harsh to hear, but facts is facts.

3. Finally, your "passion" for poker may represent a gambling problem. Go to the GA website and take their quiz. You may be fine, but it's worth ruling out Pathological Gambling as an issue for you.
