You called a check? Isn't that a check by another name?

Was playing at Pacific Poker in a sit and go.

I had Q-K and the flop was 2-9-10. Everyone checked.

Turn was a Queen. Everyone checked to me and I called. Had one other caller.

River was another Queen to make a board of 2-9-10-Q-Q and give me trip queens. I was escatic and went all in.

What did the other guy have? 10-10

At first I was confused as to how I was beaten. When I realised I had a full house then turned to dumbfounded.

I thought I had the nuts although anyone with 2-2, 9-9, 10-10, 8-J or J-K was going to beat me.

But still.........

Going to keep trying at Pacific Poker. You won't believe this but I have had some success there. Just haven't posted it.

Hopefully will have a good beat story of my own to post soon

I think I understand what you are saying about how you feel your trips should have beat his trips. Unfourtunatley Texas Hold'em don't work like that. That's the beauty of a hidden set. He seemed to know he could check it to you and you would eventually bet. He was hoping a good card would come on the turn or river. You should have made a bet on the turn and maybe he would have thought you held QQ for a set. If he didn't fold you could have been suspicious. Maybe you should have raised preflop.(assuming everyone limped) KQ is good to have in late position. I don't think it was a bad beat but more like bad play on your part that got you into trouble.

More of a good lesson rather than a bad beat

By the way - where is the right place to post bad beat stories?

[/ QUOTE ]

NO WHERE. If you havn't gotten it by now, posting a bad beat story is the one way to get everyone making fun of you. We've all did it at first but WE quickly learned not to do it anymore. WE also didn't try to defend ourselves pathetically and to the sad amusement of everyone else.

If you want to send a bad beat send it to www.riveredagain.com they love those things there. Not here because you will get blasted as you already have.

ridiculous...

wow, this guy is ridiculous. he's like a parody of himself and bill fillmaff rolled into one. i cant imagine what this flaming from 2+2 must be doing to his self esteem.

davey, i play in the REAL MONEY SNGs, and that is where more than 3/4 of my bankroll has come from. im willing to wager that not only are you down, but you will stay down.

how old are you as well? you doun't sound old enough to gamble. im also willing to wager that you are underage.

i think it's likely that most people here come from better backgrounds than you, since most here are upper middle class and very intelligent.

from what iv'e seen of you, you look exactly the same as a pacific fish.
