Lady, whether I am pathetic or not is beyond the scope of this thread. You have made at least half a dozen logical leaps already based purely on subjective emotional experience. You are irrational and illogical. Maybe this is a punishment on your nature for a past abortion, I don't know.

Just give me the name of the place where you play poker and save me a seat on your left. Thanks.

[/ QUOTE ]

First of all, I never had an abortion.
Second all of your all theories are based on emotions and morals, not actual logic.
Thirdly, why do you have 666 in your screen name?

Did not say that

[ QUOTE ]
I don't want to offend, but I am rapidly losing patience with the way you ignore presented points and return again and again to your experiences and emotional impressions, which are, frankly, irrelevant.

[/ QUOTE ]

Experiences are what makes us who we are. To say that experiences are irrelevant is a very uneducated statement. Pro-lifers opinions are solely based on emotions, not logic. Experiences were only written to illustrate arguments. If somebody throws an argument at me and I have actually been in that situation, then yes, I will talk about it because I KNOW what I am talking about more than that particular person. That's all.
I have tried to be very logic and rational about this topic. Unfortunately when people throw religious or moral arguments at you, you have to go down to that level as well.

I thought we had already agreed that this was a moral issue?

I was no denying that. Morality is a part of the issue. Religion is also a part of it. I was talking about when non-logical issues are brought up.

Re: Abortion

As long as we're on the Philosophy board, what the hell:

Experiences ARE largely irrelevant. Or, at least, inferior to the correct formulation, articulation, and application of theory.

No argument is more illogical or more purely seated in emotion than the "it's cute, it lives; it's unrecognizable, feel free to dump it" dichotomy employed by the great "reluctantly pro-choice" movement.

I don't think Pro-choice indivduals think about a 3 month fetus as "cute", we see it for what it is a non-viable (outside the womb), unable to feel, reason or think fetus. Nothing more. It does live and that is a fact, I don't see the dichotomy in that. Cute is actually an opinion shared by the "obviously confused pro-life" movement.

Aplication of theories are considered experiences.

I agree with you mslif. I think Peter666 crossed the line with that comment.

[ QUOTE ]
Imagine that tomorrow all doctors had the ability to terminate pregnancies in either of two ways. The way it is done now. Or by delivering the baby alive, regardless of its prematurity and keeping it alive with technology.

[/ QUOTE ]

The fact that the latter situation is impossible is exactly why a fetus is not a human being. (That is, a fetus is not self-sustainable).

Therefore, aborting a fetus is not the same as "murder."

Like so many arguements for or against abortion, your argument is flawed, and therefore invalid and unsound.

Re: Abortion

This may seem a bit controversial, but here are my 2 cents:

I believe there's a moral equivalence between killing a new born baby, and (say) a cow.

I think my reasoning is pretty obvious, so I won't go into them.
