Re: *TT* rates OOT\'s fashion sense

More questions for TT, while I'm at it:

1. How do you feel about the Bachrach shoes with a tux? I'm already going through the miserable experience of renting a tux for a wedding and absolutely abhor the thought of wearing disgusting patent leather shoes. You think those ok for black tie? And no, I'm not gonna buy a tux right now, either.

2. With casual clothes (jeans and khakis) I almost exclusively wear brown Nocona bullhide cowboy boots. Occasionally I'll wear Asics similar to these, except in grey.

Regardless of your commentary, I'll continue to wear boots; having said that, I'm interested in fashion-guy's opinion about them. PS: I live in Dallas.

No offense to the MANY who wear them, but I wish we could get over this whole Movado thing.

i thought it would be obnoxious to mention, as watches are often a factor of available monies, but you are correct. this is not a cool brand at all.

I personally like them because they have a clean look and are good quality. I don't like a watch with a million dials all over the front of it.

does anyone have a suggestion for a dressier watch (wearable with suits) and to work and other formal things?

although bands are typically fanciest, i think i'd prefer an SS bracelet. also, i'd like it to be cheaper, perhaps a seiko, tag, omega, or similar.

You are in decent shape, why are your clothes 3 sizes too big for your body?

TT, I guess you may be exaggerating, but 3 sizes too big? are you implying that for people to be dressed nicely, they all have to wear some kind of blazer over a "clever" Vote 4 Pedro t-shirt that is so tight the nipples are showing along with a pair of jeans that clearly defines your junk?

Princeton Watches is your friend.

The whole Movado thing is some guy made the first one as a piece of art to hang in a museum. They don't seem to be decreasing in popularity. I think the look of the gold one is worn out, but the SS one posted looks good.

Thanks, how do you like either of these?

I'm a SS Black Face guy. I recently bought a SS white face Timex to see if I could make the switch. It's not working.

My pops has a Seiko pretty much identical to the top one although it's auto (another must of mine). He got it when he was 21. He'll be 70 in about 2 weeks. I'ts one of two watches I've ever seen him wear. Probably where I get my preferences.
