Since you seem to like plain stuff, check out American Apparel. I like style 2412. The collar on that shirt is f'ing crisp all the time and it looks good without being popped.

Re: Apparently I can\'t dress myself

you're getting pretty bad advice.

ok, buy 2 pairs of NICE jeans. i would recommend adriano goldscmeid, seven or paper denim & cloth. there is nothing gay about these jeans. they will fit better and look better and chicks will think you have a little taste. if you must buy levis - get the premium ones. - $250

for shoes, get something black and simple - kenneth cole, banana republic, whatever. - $100

buy 2 or 3 nice shirts - 2 white ones, 1 black. i like Theory, but whatever - b republic, ck,. $200-$300.

then get 2 sweaters - one simple grey cashmere - b republic probably. $120 Anyone advising against cashmere doesn't know enough chicks.

and for the other sweater get either a nice turltle neck, or a sweater/jacket zip up thing - in black or navy - $100-200.

this stuff is all very simple and clean and non-metro. it just looks like you know what you're doing. stay away from non-solids and non standard colors. your outfits should get their character from fabric and cut.

now go get laid.

this all sounds really good, and fits with how I see my self which is basically simple non flashy. thanks

one question though "adriano goldscmeid, seven or paper denim & cloth" are these all different brands or do adjectives start at seven? Also which stores would have these?

lapoker17 12-18-2005 11:39 PM

Re: Apparently I can\'t dress myself

Seven
Adriano Goldschmeid
Paper Denim & Cloth

3 diff brands. Nordstrom will have 1 and 3 AG are sometimes harder to find, but I think they are the best jeans around - if you have Saks or Neimans I would go there - they may even have them at Nordstrom these days, but I don't know.

You're best bet, really, is to go shopping with a friend whose taste you trust and who has a similar style and/or body type.

But I don't understand how you're getting dates if you don't know how to dress. MySpace?

lapoker, do you have any advice for taller people (6'4" or 6'5")? a lot of brands cut off at 34" inseam and they never seem long enough. i am fairly slim, but am athletic and have kind of a big ass. i find its really hard to find jeans that fit well, i know its probably a stretch that you know anything specific but you seem on the ball.
