I remember some drum/percussion solos from Paul Simon's "Live in the Concert" around 1992 that totally stunned me -

but 5 percussionists/two drummers will usually do that.

I think so too, but when we do one the audience goes apeshit. I figure they're not getting freebird so they can get a drum solo.

I know a lot of people are into this kind of stuff, and that's fine...but for me I go to concerts to actually listen to music, not to hear each band member individually prove how good they are at playing their instrument.
