Re: Guess how much 56 pounds of change is worth and win 2% (coinstar)
I could create dozens of gimmick accounts, and guess one cent above and below every one elses guesses. So, lets save time. If no one guesses the exact amount, give me the 2%.

Re: Guess how much 56 pounds of change is worth and win 2% (coinstar)
heh, i adjusted based on the 8.9% .. there is no mention if its used. don't let the cat out of the bag.

Re: Guess how much 56 pounds of change is worth and win 2% (coinstar)
$590.61 after Coinstar's usurous fee.
Note: the maximum value is (post Coinstar) about $1020, if it was all quarter and/or dimes, which have the highest monetary density. The minimum, all pennies, is about $78. |

Re: Guess how much 56 pounds of change is worth and win 2% (coinstar)
A few coins were filtered out. Random Canadian garbage money. Some old pennies from the 20's the machine didn't seem to recognize. Chuck-E-Cheese tokens and random video game coins with no cash value, even a South American dime, I think it was Brazilian ( yet I've never been there.)
You may have to adjust your guesstimates based on these aberrations. |

Re: Guess how much 56 pounds of change is worth and win 2% (coinstar)
I'll assume you have the same amount of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. The average weight of these coins is 3.8595 grams, with an average value of 10.25 cents. 3.8595 grams is 0.0085 pounds. If you have 56 pounds of coins, you have 6581 coins. 6581 coins * .1025 $/coin = $674.60. So, there's my guess:
$674.60 before fees I think it might actually be lower, because it'll probably be like 50% pennies instead of 25%, but I'll stick with this guess. -- Homer |

Re: Guess how much 56 pounds of change is worth and win 2% (coinstar)
Ok, I will do a real guess too.
Assuming your sample contains 32% quarters, 17% dimes, 9% nickels, and 43% pennies, I get a pre-coinstar value of $725.98 ($661.37 post coinstar fee). |

[ QUOTE ] A few coins were filtered out. Random Canadian garbage money. [/ QUOTE ] http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/...milie_anim.gifA_C_Slater [/ QUOTE ] Hehehe. I literally threw the canadian money in the garbage rather than put it in my pocket. A yuppie in her 30's with small child looked at me in disgust as she waited patiently with her pathetic jar of change for me to finish. ( NOTE: My failure to capitalize the "c" in "canadian" is deliberate.) |
